India in Hollywood

So few days back I watched my favorite historian Indy Jones scrambling through another misadventure under the guise of saving the world and having ball of time. This time his nemesis was certain Amrish Puri and location was some fort in Jaipur (or a location built on some studio).Now anyone who has seen this movie will wince with the juvenile depiction of Hindu culture and Ma Kaali. Also this was first time for me to learn that monkey brain is served in Rajasthan. In all my years staying in India, I have never come across this dubious gem of culinary delight in any state - let alone Rajasthan. Let us chock this up to cinematic liberty and move on.

This is not the first time Hollywood has called upon Bollywood. Dilip Kumar was offered "Lawerence of Arabia". I.S.Jauhar worked in the movie - not as central character agreed. Sridevi was offered a movie by Mr Spielbergee (that is what she called him). Irfan Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have worked in Hollywood movies. Frieda Pinto was leading actress in few Hollywood block busters. Anil Kapoor and Amitabh had blink and miss roles in solid Hollywood production. So who else do you know has worked in Hollywood.

Tena Desai has done The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. There are Indian actors who have acted in HW, but I don't know of too many BW actors who have had a stint in HW.

James Bond is always British. It is in contract or something. Otherwise Hritikh was perfect fit.

Indiana jones and temple of doom was funny movie. I too work in hollywood but not in movie. 😃 aish did some couple of movies.
