What can one do?
It is not about "supporting" old actors. Audience do not go to theatres and spend hundreds (for a family - thousands) to "support" anybody. Everyone goes there for entertainment. A flowery romance or a good guy beating the bad guys; does not matter that the story is escapist. (In fact, it is more preferred more, to relax after tiresome life). Just pure entertainment which everyone can watch together.

Which of the younge hero guarantees a clean entertainment(/masala) movies for family audience? As long as their movies revolve about live ins, ONS, 90's hero's movies will continue to dominate. TINA (There is no alternative) factor applies in film land too.

I believe a lot of it is due to how BW has become a family business. If you talk about the older actors, a lot of them had to claw their way to the top through sheer hard work, talent, networking and other things.

Right now, there are too many barriers to entry for talented outsiders, especially male outsiders, 'cause if it's a family business, patriarchy dictates that the reigns be handed over to the son.

If you see, profits are not forthcoming from non-Khan films and BW has become heavily reliant on them, which is not a good thing. Oligopolies are not good for the consumers 'cause choice is whittled down.

Frankly, I am bored of the musical chairs BW keeps playing with the same people vying for different movies. I don't have a problem with the 90s actors existing but I also wanna see new stories and new actors.

Movies are about variety and the lack of variety is why I barely watch 2-3 films an year at the theatre.

Yes, there is also an element of sexism to it since the audience is not supportive of female actors over 30 (this is the general trend, even if there has been some progress).

^ This.

Only the Khans have crossed 200 crores at the box office, and only Akshay consistently delivers 100+ crores movies.

People act like these 90s actors are bribing audiences to come watch their movies. Isn't it a surprise that only Krrish 3, BM, and YJHD have managed to come anywhere near close to 200 crores from the post-90s lot?

Clarity is right too. Whether Salman's father was a screenwriter or Aamir's father was a director, or we had the likes of Akshay and SRK who are outsiders, all of these actors worked hard to reach a certain level. It wasn't easy for them in their early years. They didn't have any Godfathers so to speak.

Today, every star child is gunned down for a launch once they hit puberty. Each has a Godfather, and everything comes on a platter. It's not surprising that the talent and magnetism has disappeared. It's become a family business.

The fact that you only want actors from one generation goes to show the poor state of Bollywood films. Films should not just be about people in their 20s and 30s. It should be about everyone! Aamir, Srk, Salman earned this love and support through decades of work. If people can't appreciate good work from younger actors because of their obsession with old ones then they need to broaden their minds.
