Sonam to launch a film on LGBTQ community

Sisak, touted as India's first silent gay love story couldn't find a producer, but is seeing the light of the day, thanks to crowdfunding. The film is directed by Faraz Sarif Ansari.

Sonam Kapoor will be presenting the trailer of the film through her twitter account on January 30.

Sisak was completed last year and Ansari made rounds to several producer's offices for funding, but had to come back empty handed.

The film is about two men in search of love and how they find it when they bump into each other in the compartment of a local train.

Excellent initiative! Am glad Sonam is taking this step. Trying to step away from her Chanel-LV world for a good cause is an excellent thing. 👍🏼

This isn't anything new, Sonam has always supported the LGBT community and other causes. It isn't the first time she supports a "small" film too.

She loves fashion but it isn't the only thing that defines her.

Great initiative. I just hope the film doesn't make a mockery of gay people like KJo's films.

It's a small movie and the premise seems interesting. Doesn't seem seem anywhere close to what Kjo would do.

The trailer will show what's it's about and the atmosphere of the film.

Sonam isn't starring in this movie. She's merely supporting it.

But eh, if her voice or her existence bother you ; you can simply not pay attention and ignore her...
