Shivaay is REALLY stuck between a rock and a hard place isn't he? Poor chap.
Golden at heart though he is, he has a fatal flaw. He does not share. He does not trust anyone, even his family. He trusts only himself to fix things when issues crop up. He can even tell Tej, to not do anything and leave it to him. He assumes himself as the head of the house, the assumed heir, which is probably why it irritates Tej so much.
Now, he had just gotten round to acknowledging that he cares about Annika A LOT. Faraq padta hai unka. Whether she's there or not, whether she's happy or not, whether she is in trouble, whether she is mad at him , etc. Her wounds hurt him, he was scared half to death that she had died.
Yeah, people. Shivaay is in love. Stampeding elephants cannot make him admit it. All that's left is for him to cry in Om's embrace in pain of lost love.
Annika too made a fatal error. She assumed and expected Shivaay to take care of her. She's naive, she was bought over by the bravado Shivaay showed over the phone to his PI. Perhaps for her, his actions speak louder than words, his actions say that he cares for her and he wants to take care of her and Sahil.
But Shivaay is walking on the fence. He acts like a loving husband, but actively refuses to say the words that will commit himself to her. At any point he can go back and pretend it was all in her imagination. Or attribute it to her analogy of his 100 shades.
For him, his commitment will be sealed when he says the words. For himself. For her, his actions are more powerful.
What hurts is, she will never be a priority to him. As good as this is for the ObBros, it is not what I wish for the orphan girl who is so afraid to fall in love. She will always feel less than worthy, like an extra burden to Superman Shivaay Singh Oberoi. This man will bend this ways and that, and she will have to adapt and move around to remain in the fringes of his life. Her life will be swallowed by his.
She watched as he roared to defend his brother , refuting all the convenient evidence, stood on his gut feeling and loyalty. She felt pride in him. But when it came to her brother, she failed to protect him. She is not as powerful as Shivaay to fend off the nasty people targeting her brother.
In my head, I wished she shouted loudly and took a layer off Tia's back for touching Sahil. I would have searched him myself if they needed the proof so much. Tia should NOT have touched Sahil. I would have murdered her if I was Annika, seriously. I pray when she's done crying over bruised ego and broken heart, she goes and brings hellfire at Tia.
I get it. Annika is hurt, she thought Shivaay will protect her. To her, he had turn his back on them, because they weren't his family. I was cringing watching her fly from one person to another, pleading to believe her, the helplessness and humiliating position they put her in. The words Pinky used upon them: sadakchaap, chor, gareeb, dirt. (closes eyes remembering the pain). They showed her her aukaad right then. Annika's bubble burst. She is a nobody there. Just like before.
Mrs K gloats at her success, I really felt like throwing a punch on her smug face. Sahil hears the whole conversation and sweetly consoles Shivaay. He must realize how generous Sahil and his sister are, able to understand his majboori and forgiving him after all that humiliation. I wished Shivaay had hugged the little brave boy back.
At their wedding, Shivaay forced her to sit at the dais and marry him, her brother's life in jeopardy. He covered her face and pretended that she was Tia, and told no one. He wanted to divorce her as soon as possible and amend the situation back to Tia as his wife. He introduced Tia as his wife to the media, sealing his fate. Stuck Annika in this limbo of a half marriage.
Now, for Lohri, he is going to force Annika to sit with him for the prayers. What gives?
Now, he wants to tell everyone Annika is his wife, and remove Tia from his. I think the sniper will shoot them (either one) before that happens. Status quo will prevail, Annika will think they are divorced and he will know they haven't. Separation coming perhaps?
I think he's decided he'd rather face the media scandal of his marriage mix-up, so Mrs. Kapoor cannot threaten him anymore. If it's out that Tia is not his wife at all, then Tia will face an embarassing media scandal too, being pregnant outside of wedlock. Perhaps he tells Mrs. K to do whatever she likes with that clip of Omkara, believing it to be a lie.
One would think he could go back to Daima and get the correct story out no?
I dunno guys, but I'm getting the feeling that Omkara catches wind of this "illegitimacy" drama and leaves Oberoi Mansion. Hence setting off "Dil Bole Oberoi" as he turns angry and mysterious.
That promo looks set in the near future of their lives, where Om lives separately. Shrenu looks so pretty and she has really innocent big doe eyes. Looking forward to that story!
p/s: Note to Shivani Shirali, you give gorgeous dresses the Svetlana, Jhanvi and Tia, Prinku as well. But you don't seem inspired to make Annika look stunning. She wears that one pair of jeans-leggings with everything. It. is. very.obvious. Never mind how the dress was hand-stitched or with delicate embroidery. The D.O.P has very weird settings for lighting and filters, and that dress did not appear beautiful. It stuck out in odd places, with weird holes at the waist. It has to look aesthetic ON SCREEN. Surely you don't need us to tell you how to do your job. Then do it ! You even made Mallika look good. Stop this fusion nonsense please. We all know how beautiful Surbhi looks in lehenga, saree and anarkalis. PLEASE !
Maybe the dress is nice. But here it has to flatter Surbhi, not the designer. It didn't look so bad in the DBO promo frankly, because not much of it was seen. its the same dress.
