The beautiful thing about ViTharv is that they are so real. And they talk.
But in the end, when Atharv held Vividha close to him and promised her that no one could separate them, you believe him. Because hasn't Atharv always kept his promises?
Today when Atharv was happily hugging everyone, seeing his tabela again, you couldn't miss the delight on his face. He was home. And for him nothing had changed. He doesn't remember the last three months that had happened. For him, he left the house a few days ago to get married and is now back again.
But for Vividha it's been a lifetime.These last three months she has endured pain and heartache that no one deserves to suffer. She has been molested, lost a sister, lied to, told to lie, blamed, accused and all this has taken a terrible toll on her. She is still Atharv's Vividha, but a different one to the one he knew. She has changed.
Of course one of the most heart breaking scenes today was when Atharv found out about Guddi. It was important that it was Vividha who broke the news to him. When she shut the door on the rest of the family and told them all to leave, it was because Guddi's loss was ViTharv's grief, no one else's. It was something they had to mourn together. And as an unbelieving Atharv broke down, Vividha covered him to cry with him and share his pain.
When Vividha came to Atharv in the tabela later that night, he finally said the one thing that was unspoken between them since Atharv came back.
'You don't seem like you.'
And it was as if that acknowledgement finally broke down one of the barriers that had been standing between them. Vividha agreed it did feel strange. She couldn't recognise herself. And a thoughtful Atharv asked her if she regretted anything.
That hurt Vividha. She told Atharv never to ask her that question again. He needed to hear how Vividha was like a living corpse when she got married and how she only became alive when he came back. And how she still feared that it was just a dream that could be broken anytime and she could lose him again.
Atharv does understand that Vividha has been through a lot of pain in these last three months but his insecurities are still there. Vividha has told him some of her pain but she is still holding back the guilt she feels for hurting the Vashishts. There was still a lot unsaid between them and it's going to take time.
I loved the Sujata-Atharv scene too. It was nice to see Sujata tell Atharv how she had felt in the last three months. Atharv is now realising how much his not being there affected everyone. It was cute the way he tickled his mum in the end.
And Kailaash is still lurking, waiting to pounce.
The one thing we know is that it's not going to be easy for ViTharv. They still have a lot of talking to do and a lot of their own feelings to understand.
