Khushi woke up out of her nap from the sound of the heavy raindrops hitting the metal balcony railing. An instant smile crept upon her face and she got off her bed only to sit on the floor nearby the open balcony doors, taking in the earthy scents and soft breeze. She lived for these moments; moments that God made so special and comforting to the soul. Although not everyone was a fan of the dark and gloomy clouds, Khushi always was. She adjudged her position to look past the balcony railings and naturally, no one was outside. She shook her head with a smile - while everyone else liked to sit in the warmth of their home, Khushi's favorite past time was to walk in the rain every chance she could get. She grabbed her zip up hoodie from her bed, tied her hair in a high bun and out she went, without an umbrella or any other means of protecting her from the rain.
She began to walk her usual route that she would take whenever it rained, and how invigorating it was! After months of the dry cold season, the rainy season was finally back.
She walked as she normally would, under the tree branches that overtook the side walks, and past all the houses until she saw at the other end of the side walk, walking in her direction, a man with an umbrella. Of course there's nothing surprising about that, but what made Khushi suppress a giggle and look down with a smile was how the man was walking in the rain but with a closed umbrella in his hand. The moment he caught sight of Khushi, he quickly but nonchalantly opened the umbrella and held it over his head.
As the distance between the two began to close, Khushi made quick eye contact and showed a soft friendly smile. She felt her cheeks blush when the seemingly handsome umbrella man smiled back at her. Being taken by his good looks, Khushi was tempted to get another glance and so she did. Once she thought she walked a reasonable distance away, she looked back and to her absolute mortification yet humor, she saw the umbrella man looking back at her at the same time, moving the umbrella away from his head to close it again and giving her a wink with a sweet smile before he turned his head and continued his walk.
Khushi internally laughed and couldn't keep her impish smile off her face for the rest of her walk. The rainy season just got that much more beautiful.
Heyo my friends! Hope everyone is doing well. I reallly miss writing but I'm kinda stumped for anything too long. Even for this one, I don't know if I should keep it a one shot, or if I should add a few more parts. Please let me know! And let know how you guys liked it! š³
