Today was all about the firm establishment of trust b/w Shivaay-Anika. After the rollercoaster of emotions that a realization of love brought for Anika last week, today we moved into the more stable territory of trust.
Off late, it's been interesting to watch the evolution of this relationship...somewhere in the midst of the many cycles of comic bickering, they managed to establish something quite meaningful between these two.
Today was the first test of trust in Anika that Shivaay had to face since he promised to never make that mistake again after the Daksh fiasco...and he passed with flying colors today, probably with distinction😆...I got the sense somewhere that that incident was in the back of his mind too as he spoke with a whole new renewed firmness regarding his implicit trust in Anika...the way he asserted again and again that Anika can never do anything wrong...this was his moment to redeem himself from that moment when he thought so lowly of her character, lashed out at her for seemingly tainting the image of purity and goodness he had about her...today the loop was closed.
It was as if he was proclaiming his opinion about Anika to the audience in the room as much as to himself...as if sounding it out for the first time even to himself...a subconscious faith in her becoming more tangible even to himself as he spoke it out loud..."Anika kabhi koi galat kaam kar hi nahin sakti"...she can do no wrong...she can never hurt ANYONE...lol...
Billu never does anything in half-measure...it's either no trust at all or the whole other end of the spectrum where he puts you on a PEDESTAL of SUPREME TRUST😆...and that is where I sense a recipe for future pangaas...he is again holding Anika to impossible standards of perfection that he himself labels her with...that she can never hurt anyone...I bet the first chance she manages to hurt him even if it happens accidentally, Billu is gonna fall apart yet again😆.
The irony is that he himself is a much more flawed character, but continues to expect her to forgive his every mistake, every transgression...and she forgives him because she is Anika...but she isn't allowed to make mistakes, because he can't handle it😆...he feels adrift when she is wrong...as if she is his north star, always pointing him in the right direction...she is the only idealism he allows himself and he cannot bear for that ideal to falter even for a second.
The second Shivaay-Anika scene was a perfect study in the paradoxes of Billu...where he will admit to a stranger (even if it is a PI) that Anika is his wife, that he can't bear to see her hurt or in danger...but stutter again when it comes to admitting the same to Anika...
I loved the flow of the moment where he says, "Bharosa kaise na karun, humara toh rishta hi bharose pe tika hai...aakhir tum meri..."...He was about to say wife ho and then abruptly stopped as he realized just how much his subconscience had surface there...much to his own surprise also😆...then trying to backtrack it all into "responsibility"...
Anika's amused smile as he tries to clarify the whole thing in terms of "You saved my life so many times...meri bhi koi responsibility banti hai tumhari taraf"😆...not even surprised to see him bring up the Divorce...Tia se zyada that imaginary Divorce is his lifeline right now😆...without that, he has nothing left to stand on and his little illusion will crumble like a house of cards.
Farz, zimmedaari...these are concepts Shivaay is comfortable with...Love would freak him out...lol...so he can't even go there...and even before that, acknowledging that all this affection and trust in Anika comes from a place where he has accepted her as his wife, his tongue trips over the W word also😆...the way his voice fades away into almost a whisper as he says, "You are my...responsibility"...he isn't convincing even himself...but these are safe words for him.
The little moment where he says, "Aur Shivaay Singh Oberoi apni zimmedaari se kabhi muh nahin modta"...and Anika smiles in bemused understanding again...almost felt like he said it with a sense of wryness and she got it.
And then the switch to light mode again...lol with Anika reiterating how AJEEB he is...this time adding that he should come with a USER MANUAL like other household appliances😆...and then Shivaay just listening as she lists out the lambiii list of paradoxes in him...kabhi tadi, kabhi nakhre, kabhi aloo puri😆...alternating b/w amusement and fascination especially as she reaches the end of her list by concluding that his eyes may be satrangi, but he himself is sau-rangi😆...aaj toh RANGOLI banaa diya Billu ko😆...he looked so fascinated by her observations in that bit...the little "sach mein?" in the end...such a golden opportunity for him to reverse the narrative from how he said a little too much to how SHE got a little too obvious in expressing her fascination with him😆.
Very nicely shot scene...liked the new angle of capturing the pool from just outside their room window...without the blinding yellow lights that usually crop up in their scenes.
