thank you so much for sharing this.
I have to admit most of the popular social media shows in the Indian TV industry are less likely to do well or achieve greater trps mostly because people like myself who are actively present on social media, liking tweets and Instagram posts, also have access to various other shows from all around the world that are more progressive, entertaining with far greater technology. Whereas the not so popular indian shows (on social media) are the shows I actually sit down and watch at home during the time of its telecast, because it is something I can watch with my family. đ I also don't always keep track of the popular shows either because I know that I can always go online and get updates here or on Insta đ
I consider saas-bahu dramas my guilty pleasure đł As painful and regressive the writing may be, I can't help but love it for the acting and for that family touch. For example, Yeh Vaada Raha is one of those shows where I couldn't help but sit down with my mum and grandmum and route for Survi as she fought Tai and tried to win over Kartik's trust âşď¸đľ. During its time of telecast my mum and grandmum and even my dad would speak as if Survi and Kartik were real and would always praise Survi for her courage, and I just love watching them do so, and take part to when I can. Its an excuse to spend time with them đ¤.
I am well aware of the over exaggeration and over-the-top and unrealistic drama saas-bahu shows incorporate, I admit I get very annoyed, but it is the light moments between a mother/daughter, sister/brother, sisters, husband/wife, grandparent/grandchild that I enjoy watching and look forward to. The acting in such shows are often underrated, and some of the best television actors in the industry are imo often found in such shows.
I do agree that these Saas-bahu shows need to tone down on the drama and unrealistic twists, but I hope they continue to put emphasis on family and incorporate more of the sweet and realistic side of family relations đđź. For Yeh Vaada Raha, I loved KarVi/KarViShi and I love saying it, because the moments they shared seemed so realistic and sweet that I couldn't help but come back for me even after its telecast And now it is Mehek, it is a show I really love and I love how it is both a popular show in and out of Social Media. The relationships (Mehek-Shauryaa, Mehek-and the entire Sharma family) are just the best, and I am really hoping they continue doing justice to it post the marriage track
