A Love Before Time
Can feelings be so strong that they defy the rules of time and space and cross them ? ...Feelings truly reciprocated can they overcome any boundary ...Is there really a thing called true love.
A familiar tune of the piano, played in the the huge room and a figure standing behind the musician smiling ..."Sire , we are under threat", A servant informed. He turned sadly , "Wait for me". "I will..."...
"I want to meet you , I am coming," ......Maan awoke to that uncertain dream he's been having for quite some time now . He is unable to decipher why he keeps getting this dream and who is it who wants to meet him . Looking at the alarm clock he decided anyway he should be awake. After doing his morning chores he was driving thinking about that strange dream . Suddenly out of nowhere he saw a beautiful girl running across the street . He stopped his car only to see there is no one there . Again a hallucination ...sighing he went back to drive . Parking his car he was going towards his University when something collided with him .

Out of instinct he held the person ,only to see a beautiful girl there ."An angel ", He thought, until the angel looked uncomfortable in his arms . Analyzing the situation and knowing he's holding her more than necessary he left her .She got up and was about to shout when she looked at the person standing in front of her . Smiling she said ,"Hello Maan", surprised he looked at her ,"How do you know my name",he asked . She just smiled at that ,"I wanted to meet you", with that he was reminded of his dream.He turned around to find she was gone.
Living alone in another country , he always wondered what bought him here as he was determined to complete his education in his own country ,as hard as he tried to refute but he knew there was something which bought him here .Could it be the person from his dream? , he used to think , but nothing unusual had happened ,until today, the encounter with the young woman . She was beautiful , however he tried to think otherwise, his mind took him back to the mysterious young woman who bumped into him this morning ,"Angel", he thought , but how did she knew his name when he had hardly seen her around ,not that he was well acquainted himself , as himself was the new student . He was determined to find out about her . With these thoughts, he got into bed and slept thinking about the beautiful stranger. Next day, he woke up with a new determination, to search for her.
As the earth reclaims its due

He started his car and was driving by when he came near a piano shop , he stopped by seeing she's there and was looking at an old piano fondly. Rushing in, he found the store to be deserted ,but he was sure he saw her . He went near the piano and felt a deja vu , seeing himself playing it with her listening to d beautiful music it created. He was about to go but was stopped by a voice, turning around he saw a man looking his way."I am sorry , I was just looking for someone guess I came to the wrong shop", he said ."Its alright ,young man , would you like anything which interests you here ", asked the man .Thinking about how she was admiring the piano a few moments ago ,he thought it could help him get to her so he said," Sir I would like to buy this piano , its wonderful,"."Do you know how to play it?", asked the other man."Ahh...no I don't", he replied reluctantly.The older man curiously asked,"Then why do you want to buy it, ...It's precious...I cannot give to anyone who just walks in, you can buy other pieces if you wish ", he said. "But please I want this particular piece, I promise I will take care of it", He insisted. "Alright, is that is what you wish , but let me warn you about it ,this piano has been returned by its users within a week , the ones who didn't have lost their sanity or worst had happened with them ,do you still wish to buy it, I will advice you reconsider your decision",warned the man in a serious tone. Maan don't know why he wanted it but couldn't help but insist upon getting the same piece," I want this one only, I would be glad if you could give it to me ,"He asked earnestly. "Alright ,then you can have it,"The older man replied. "Thank You Sir ",Maan said gratefully. After telling the shopkeeper that he will be paying for that piano by the end of the day he left for his college. "So it reaches it rightful owner ", the old man said once Maan was out of sight , "You scared him father",came a gentle voice.The old man turned around to find his daughter questioning him."I have never killed anyone", she laughed."I know ...but the piano is precious ...to you. I didn't want to part with it,I know I lied by saying the piano brings misfortune though its melody only heals a broken heart and brings the owner a sense of happiness, but I did not want to part with it ",said the old man sadly."I know father, but now its with the person I wanted it to be with , it will all end soon", said the young lady.
Later , in the evening Maan was unsuccessful in the search for the girl he met and drove back home. He was entering his mansion when he thought he saw her standing by the gates , smiling. He stopped the car only to see no one was there. Entering his mansion he found his servant asking him",Master Maan, where would you like me to put the piano you bought this afternoon,"He asked."Put it in the hall", he answered still not happy that he couldn't find her."Certainly, sir", his servant bowed and did what he was told. "Any messages for me", he asked hopefully, despite having a big family and being the sole owner of the family fortune he craved for their company ,he was lonely at heart.Not that they don't love him but yes he felt somewhat lonely sometimes."No sir ,although we did have..." he left his sentence incomplete in fear of his master's temper who strictly forbade him to answer any unknown visitors and certainly didn't wished to be bothered for the same."I beg your pardon, what were you saying we had", he questioned his loyal servant."Ahh...its nothing master I took care of that sorry for bothering you", he said apologetically."Its okay, you don't have to feel sorry for everything", Maan said feeling bad for scaring his servant who has literally bought him up since young as his family did not bothered about him . After the diner ,he went to check on the magnificent piano he bought earlier.
The piano was beautiful , he thought to try it out , despite not knowing how to play it perfectly he did took some piano classes on the insistence of his family . He ran his fingers on the keys, reminded of her.He pulled out the stool , thinking about her his fingers moved on the piano playing an entirely different tune he ever learned. Not understanding how he knew this tune he stood up to go to bed.His brain has worked enough for one day. Not finding any sleep he decided he should study , he wanted to become the best in his field of Business . After two hours he felt tired and decided to sleep. "I am happy now..." ,the voice in his dream said again,"Who are you", was all he could ask before hearing the piano .He woke up instantly only to realize hes been dreaming again . He went down only to find Arnold ( his servant), on the door talking to someone, rather arguing , thinking of finding about the matter he headed towards that direction,"Please, let me talk to your master once", he heard a female voice."Madame, I told you yesterday itself my master doesn't entertain unknown guests, its better you leave.Please don't create any nuisance ", said Arnold to the visitor."What is going on",Arnold turned only to be greeted by his young master,instantly he replied.
"Sir, this young lady has been coming her since yesterday for a piano tutor's job, despite me refusing her we don't need any, she's still persistent and now wishing to speak to you", He told his master ."Let her in", Arnold was surprised his master must have fumed by now by the mention of a visitor and certainly a lady but he's asking to let her in, doing as he was told he ushered the intruder inside. "Listen, please like my servant said we don't want any tutor please leave",Maan said without looking at her , he hated females the once whom he have met always were leeches who wanted him for money and looks ,he had such incidences before girls coming at his door with one or another alibi and that is why he avoided them. "You said you did not know to play the piano yesterday", said the visitor.
Now furious at the girl and her persistence he turned back only to kick her out but was stopped when he found her,"You did not answer you said you did not know the piano".He was dumbfounded looking at her ."Hello", she waved her hand in front of him to bring him out of his trance , "Ahh ...".
"I guess you really did not need help , I am sorry for bothering you , I was sent by my father from whom you bought the piano",she said and was turning to go when came his abrupt reply,"Well , please ...I mean yeah please teach me how to play it", he somehow said. "You were the one who bumped into me few days back ,weren't you ", he asked unsure to which she smiled knowingly,"Yes that was me Maan".
"How do you know my name", came his query. "Well lets say I just know",she smiled. "Now if you are done with your interrogation, I would like to formally introduce myself, you can call me Geet", she smile extending her hand towards him which he instantly took , again he was feeling like a deja vu , "Great to meet you Miss Geet", he replied politely. "So , shall we start", Geet asked ."Yeah I am sorry but right now I have to submit my work at the University, could you if that is not a problem for you come back later",he said praying in the back of his mind that she don't refuse.His prayers being answered, she said "Sure , not a problem , I am student of Literature myself and could certainly understand your trouble it will be okay in the evening"."Thank you Miss Geet",he replied. Geet ,though initially sad by his reply as she wanted to spend the day around him, understood his dilemma and decided to end it by her polite reply which seemed to relieve him and make her happy.
Maan was very happy that day, even his peers noticed his excitement , happy to see their mostly quiet friend enthusiastic, they prayed for his happiness. He was eagerly waiting to see Geet in the evening. Just as he was coming outside the University, he saw her at the gates . He made a dash towards her, she smiled and waved at him. When he came close enough ",How did you know I studied here,"he asked curiously ,to which she pointed at his and her uniform now noticing she was wearing the same he realized she studied here too.May be due to their different departments he did not see her around."Oh , sorry I did not notice", he smiled nervously. She laughed seeing him so nervous and embarrassed, he was again captivated by her beautiful laughter."Let's go", she said . He made his way towards his car and Geet went around to have her seat. Once they reached his mansion, he could have sworn he heard the piano playing again ,'Guess I have lost it officially, how could it play by itself', he thought confused. Geet , on the other hand seemed calm and knew what he was thinking but did not make it obvious.
Entering he was greeted by Arnold, who was amused to see his master's behavior but he was happy that he is socializing . He guided Geet to the hall where the piano was kept, Geet was delighted to see it ,there was spark of happiness in her eyes to see her favorite instrument well taken care of . She went towards it , turned around to look at Maan to seek his permission ,she looked at him. Maan allowed her and she sat and played a beautiful tune ,Maan was shocked to see she played the same tune which he did unknowingly the night before. He stood besides her , she looked so serene playing the music and he was lost in her thoughts , her mysterious nature was drawing him to her. She finished and not able to hold back the curiosity, he asked,"From where did you learn that tune," she for once was startled at his question but she said,"You will get to know all you want to know but you have to promise not to ask me any questions, its my sincere request to you", not understanding her demand ,he was curious still but decided to forget it for the time being in fear she might leave he complied nodding slowly. She smiled again,"Okay , so now we get down to the lessons",she said as she took out a sonata and told him how to play it . Later, she left telling him to practice the sonata so they could move further . He asked if he could drop her home which she politely denied saying she will manage. He didn't want to scare her with his stalking behavior ,he's been doing recently after her entering his life , bid her goodbye .
Days passed , with them being closer than before, Maan was more drawn towards the mysterious Geet each day , but didn't show it . Arnold watched his master and the young lady's interactions secretly, but somewhere was wary about the young lady's presence around his master. Deciding upon something , he left for the youngsters to enjoy each other's company. Geet was noticing Arnold's behavior after that day when he found her near the piano and saw what she was doing.
Next day, Arnold looked down at the address, he looked upon to verify it and was satisfied he found the shop. He entered and found it looking deserted for many years .Then hearing a sound behind him , he turned around only to find Geet looking at him. At first scared but he decided to confront her for his master, gathering his courage ,he confronted her ,"What do you want from the young master , who are you , why are you here?".Geet smiled sadly,"I won't hurt him, trust me ", she said quietly."Then why are you here , when you should not be, you do understand, what I mean don't you", he asked her ."You will get your answers , but please do not reveal it to him , not until I complete my task, I assure you I will never hurt him . He is very important to me ", the young woman pleaded .Arnold was old enough to understand the sincerity in the young woman's tone and nodding he left.
Arnold decided to keep the secret but he was worried for his young master and hoping hes not hurt again. Maan on the other hand was busy these days with his University's finals. He was thinking about revealing to Geet his feelings and hoping she reciprocates but still was scared to lose her friendship and trust with his haste . So , he decided he will tell her after his completion of his degree ,then talk to her after that if she agrees and take her with him as his wife, but before that he wanted to know Geet and her thoughts. From what he has figured out about his mysterious love that she was a soft and a kind hearted person finding happiness in the smallest of things , not caring about his money or looks she didn't pretend ,but still many facts were unknown about her as she forbade him to ask any questions...but what ...He decided he should talk to her father once .
His finals were over and he was awaiting his results, he always topped his academics but he was awaiting more eagerly for different reasons...for Geet. Geet on the other hand was knowing the time will come soon ,when everything will be revealed ...and her ...They still practiced the piano and now Maan was perfectly playing with Geet's guidance. Finally, the awaited day came and Maan topped again he was very happy.He happily called his family who were happy . Over the days he spent with Geet he had come closer to his family too ,who called him more often now and apologized to him too but he was happy that he got his family back and thus has shared everything with them leaving the details of Geet, as he wanted to surprise them . He wanted to ask her father but could not find him in the shop , so leaving that he decided to wait for the evening for ...Geet.
Geet was dressed beautifully in a long overflowing dress as Maan has asked her to come for his celebration that evening .She knew what he wanted to say when he has told her that he wanted to say something very important to her.She entered the mansion, and saw Maan waiting there for her happily grinning ,he was happy at heart now not lonely like he used to be , he thanked Geet for that and the music which has helped him heal his soul .

After diner, Maan guided Geet to the piano which bought them together and decided to propose her. He nervously, got on his knees and started,"Geet , I know you might want to not see my face after this but I wanted to say...",before he could complete he was cut by Geet",Please don't say it...please...", she cried .Maan was startled by that, he instantly got up and said ,"I love you ,Geet, please don't cry if you want to refuse but please don't...".At the same time he uttered those words , Geet got surrounded by a bright light.
She smiled sadly . "What is happening ...Geet, what is..." but Geet smiled and said ,"It is time...my time is up ...I told you not to ask any questions", she smiled ,"but now I will answer everything myself..."Arnold came in running seeing the bright light from the music room fearing for his master but was astonished to see Geet surrounded by the light, she looked up to him and smiled,"I told you I won't hurt him, but could you please give me a moment with him", Arnold not knowing what to do nodded and went away , he understood and muttered after coming out ,"But you are hurting master ,now ".

She looked at Maan who looked confused ,"I m not a living being Maan, I came here only for you , you are having those dreams as it was me who wanted you to know that we are and will be connected through our feelings . I waited for you ...and when I found you I insisted to the heavens that I be allowed to meet you . You were the person whom I loved and waited for ...you left uncertainly in the lifetime you are not able to recall and asked me to wait for you .I loved you so how could I have not waited . This piano you see you loved to play it for me. My dad had it till you came he knew you are the one , he left after completing his role and I was given my time with you until you are healed in your heart and soul forgetting you are alone and also I wanted to see you again , once you were healed in your heart and soul ,I had to return . Its time now , I'm happy to meet you again ," she finished .
Maan was moved to tears by the thought of losing her ,"No you can not leave,I won't let you , I will fight the heavens to let you be with me ...please don't go . I beg you..." he spoke in a broken voice .She began to disappear with angelic wings surrounding her ,"Don't cry Maan , you won't be remembering me after all this is over , I just wanted to meet you , I am sorry I caused you pain",She smiled sadly."I won't forget you do you hear ...I will keep on searching for you and find you again and never let go, do you hear , don't go please..." , He tried again."Goodbye Maan, I will always love you ...", saying this she disappeared and so did the mysterious piano. Maan was found unconscious . He did not have any memory of Geet once she was gone but still he was crying even being unconscious.

After 7 years,
Maan now a successful businessman was working in his office , when he got a call from his parents saying he should be there in the evening by 7 as they have important guests.Guessing the important guests ,he said ,"Mom I know of your important guests but I have told you countless times I don't want those leeches anywhere around me".His mom was now accustomed to his reply so ignored him and answered "I'm sure son you won't be able to refuse this one","Whatever",came his reply. 'I have work now , so could you please cut it short". "Well then answer me and you are free to work". "Well , alright then , I will be there mother ", he huffed. Happily his mom disconnected the call. He was now planning about how he will scare this new girl off , he hated being surrounded with indignant ladies who just wanted him for his looks and money , he was already successful in scaring all of them with his temper .He does not understand but still he felt something missing in his life . After he returned he felt empty though his family was always there but he could not point but he felt like something is wrong with him . He had faint visions about him and someone and playing some instrument but people around him those he asked knew nothing of it so he did not discuss further with anyone, but deep down he knew hes waiting fr something...or someone.
Returning home, he found his family sitting with few other unfamiliar faces. His mom rushed to him and introduced him , these people looked kind he thought but still did not deter from his plan to make their daughter run . He was going to his room, when his mom asked him to fetch the girl from their garden,'Perfect opportunity ', he thought."As I was saying ",the older man continued,"my daughter has these visions for as long as she can remember of a young man playing this old piano and her standing there.She has been adamant in not meeting any of the suitors and we have bought her here . Its strange she did not protest this time," He was on his way to the garden when he heard the girl humming a tune , he recognized the tune it was the same he had been hearing in his dreams, as he approached her ,with her back still turned he heard her say,"I heard you have been having dreams about a certain someone with you playing an old piano, am I correct?", he was now more curious to know how did she know that,"Your parents told mine,I had been having similar dreams , but also of a promise to wait ...to fight the heavens for being together". His eyes widened in wonder as he recalled everything ,the part that was missing and softly said,"Geet", she turned around smiling happily as she said,"So finally we meet again never to part", and ran to his arms.

They found each other once again never to be apart , it was their feelings which made them reunited once again that even heavens had to surrender in front of their pure feelings. True love can never end it only begins in a new form with new vigor and a new life so has for Maan and Geet.
