Chapter 15 - Time Flies!

It was already six months since Arnav returned from Paris.

Life was not the same for him without Khushi, even for a minute... Everything he did, he always remembered her, her silly antics, her innocent reactions, her anklets producing soothing music telling him she was around him... He missed her so bad...

Oh, how much he wished, he never made her his punching bag or never vented out on her... His past, his trust issues had nothing to do with her... She just became his target because he was affected by her and crazily attracted to her... He could not take it that she was truly innocent, right and stood up for her beliefs... How much he wished that after their almost kiss, instead of going and proposing marriage with Lavanya, he could have simply accepted his inner feelings and proposed Khushi! She would have never engaged to Shyam if he had not pushed her back then... But it was never meant to be back then...

He kept himself so busy with work, work and work along with her memories but that's about it.

"Chote, can you please tell me what exactly happened? What did Khushi say when you talked to her? Should I talk to her or can Payal talk to her and convince her?" Anjali kept pestering Arnav often but he never opened up.

Payal also kept asking Khushi over phone but Khushi always avoided discussion about Arnav and her meeting. She changed topic clearly indicating she did not want to talk about it...

So it was kind of a dead end for the others. And they left it for Arnav and Khushi to sort it as and when they meet up.

Destiny it was indeed, that decided Arnav and Khushi should meet again. Or rather Arnav always made his destiny...

There was this huge project opportunity for AR Designs in Paris. But the client wanted a local office to represent it. Arnav had couple of offices in Europe, in London, Athens and Milan to be precise, but not in Paris for some reason.

He realized Mehta Fashion House had an office in Paris where Khushi was working... If he could collaborate with Mehta Fashion House, he could grab this huge project and knowing how big opportunity it is, even Mehta House would love to be part of such a prestigious project. Arnav and Mr. Mehta had great rapport with each other and collaboration would be easy. It would be a win-win situation for both the companies, he thought.

And since he would be leading the project from Paris, it will be his chance to be with Khushi again and win her back...

He had kept track on her activities and where about all these 6 months. He did not want to disturb her directly so he never called her for any discussions after that night. Maybe he did call couple of times wishing her on occasions but nothing beyond. And Khushi had never tried to call him in last 6 months, though she talked to him politely and nicely when he called but it was to the point, basic and nothing beyond...

Whatever updates she got about Arnav were from his Di and Payal. But that was good enough for him... And six months was long enough time, he thought. If anything he learned in last six months in his life was patience and true love he had for Khushi...

He survived with her memories. He kept things positive in spite of Khushi not calling him even once. He was just happy, she did not avoid his calls and spoke to him when he had called her occasionally.

All he did was, work harder than ever before and he had lost some weight and there were dark circles under his eyes... But this repentance was important for him...

Of course he kept in touch with Guptas. He made sure Khushi's Bauji gets best treatment and helped them out but via Akash. He did not want Khushi to feel obliged or pressurized. So he made sure she did not know his role in her father's treatment...

For Khushi, she was truly enjoying her stint at Paris!! The crowd at her office was young and fun loving. She got along with everyone, made friends and was having time of her life in Paris.

Every weekend, they would explore some or the other place in France or even she visited couple of other places in Europe...

She was enjoying travelling with her friends.

What she loved most was the freedom she had and no one to judge her every minute!! She was able to save and send money home. And with Euros to Rupee conversion, she was able to do much more for her family. She was very happy with it and equally excited with the work exposure...

Paris is the place to be for Fashion and she had got that opportunity and she was learning every minute from the experts at work, attending Fashions shows almost every week.

Work was demanding, fast paced yet fun!

She did miss Arnav in all this. She was surprised how he had never bothered her after their confessions and decisions... Couple of times he did call her to wish her but nothing more...

Though her jiji and Anjali Di always complained how he was over working and stressed. She could get details about him only from them or some times when he visited Gupta House along with his family.

He was no longer in Page 3 or any other public occasions and parties to hear about him through media... As if he was leading a quiet life, which was so not him... Khushi felt worried for him, wanted to talk to him but never found the courage...

Amidst all this, she always felt guilty, maybe she would have shown courage to talk about Shyam to Arnav... He might not trust her upfront, would have said nasty things for her but surely would have tried to dig deeper and found out the truth... May be somewhere in the process damage would have been less for her and him...

She daily prayed to her Devi Mayya for both of them... She did not know what future holds for them... But she always loved him truly, there was no doubt in her mind either... She had also seen honesty when Arnav expressed his love and apologies but she could not trust her own fragile heart...

She knew one more heart break with him and she will not survive!!

So she chose simple route, responsibilities over her love... She decided to work hard to complete her father's treatment and then think of any future for herself... She left to her Devi Mayya to decide what is best for her!!
