It is late post but i remembered it today when i saw that dev is blaming sona and ishwari for toota rishta...

Sona said it very nicely... wife and mom are like two shores and it is the duty of the husband to build a nice and strong bridge between the two.. but in this case dev instead opted to sit a boat and run to the shore that needs attention and tried to comeup with temporary solutions instead of building that bridge

Ps: i really love the dialogue writers of this show .. in almost all scenes they have such deep and correct meaning

Very true Lavanya...it was very well dev's responsibility to build her and sonakshi's relation brick by brick
But I have a doubt here...Sonakshi was well aware of dev's nature...his immense and blind love and faith for Ishwari...also his tendency to avoid situations and run away from them
So given this scenario, wouldn't it be better if Sonakshi had first strengthened her relation with dev and then helped him understand his role in building their relation(which is his only wish in life)
Also there were many instances where he voiced his discomfort with her trying to be the best bahu and somewhere neglecting their relation
(Strictly my POV)

Totallly sona would have done that ... but for that Dev has to acknowledge that his mom has not accepted Sona. everytime she arises the topic ... he would just cut her off and say .. mom just loves you blah blah... and the bottom line is Sona did not communicate all the problems and Dev did not stand up for Sona when she needed him most... instead he accused her of something that she has never done - like disrespecting his mom , gold digger, infertile etc... The problem is about hypocrisy... he can slap her father and yell at him but sona cant even raise her voice when ishwari asked them to get separated..
Sona is guilty of not speaking out her fears and dev is guilty of many things .

Oh, that scene, thanks...

Sonakshi repeatedly had told about this bad habit of Dev of finding temporary solutions, but he never understood and I guess not even now after all these years...

Sona knew this from day one of her marriage that dev wouldn't want to hear a word against his mom...he didn't even acknowledge his mothers intentions during the aunty fiasco...so if Sona would have invested her energies in making him understand this instead of brushing the topic under the carpet like him
By this it nowhere means I m supporting dev for his slapgate...during that track his hypocrisy was at its peak...ur fault is a fault and ur intentions should be considered whereas sonakshi's fault is the gravest mistake committed by her
Sona is definitely guilty of lack of communication and also of lack of acknowledgement of Bijoy being somewhere like Ishwari
If dev needs an introspection then so does Sona...even she should realise her fathers expectations and over protectiveness has also affected their relation

That was an excellent dialogue but I doubt Dev got the lesson even now. He is still First Runner Up in "Pass the Blame" game with Ishwari as the reigning champion.

very nice thought and soo appropriate.

based on all the comments, clips etc... doesn't look either maa beta has learned anything. still blaming sonakshi 😆 no reason to blame sonakshi if Dev gets that his selfish family ruined his life. he should only blame Ishwari and himself. not even GKB and her beta... cause the fault was in his upbringing and mataajee's greed and selfishness. at least GKB has her family intact😆

I see where this discussion is heading... I really don't want to debate how much percentage wrong is sona vs Dev

Sona is guilty for few things
1. Jumping into marriage with out Dev actually standing up for their Relationship
2. she did try to communicate but was told to shut up everytime and that she is being silly and that lovely ishwari just loves her.
3. She should have stood up and given it back to GKB, Ishwari and others ... instead of taking crap

I bet that if Sona had done #3 then Dev would have asked her to "GET OUT " in the early days of the marriage itself... it was just a matter of time. it lasted so long only because Sona was understanding and she reached a point where she couldnt take any more.

lastly regarding Bijoy - bijoy is a protective father ... all that he has done is reactive in nature.. he did not start offending ppl with out a reason ... so we cant compare him with Ishwari at all.. If Dev was a normal SIL then Bijoy would have never lost his cool.
