From beginning Chandra has nothing royal about him
Especially since he won war he acts worse than commoners
For everything he needs Chankya advice - for wife issues, for marriage, for spening nights with wife, for heir, for child, how to speak to other kings etc
Is he a mature 20-25 year old or a baby in pram?
Next he requires fear - fear of grandmom getting angry to behave with nandini, fear of mom dhamki to get nandini back to place, fear of grandmom ill health etc
No mature man especially a emperor will wait for fear to make decisions
Third he requires punishment - from chankya for knowing hes wrong in letting off avantika, snatching of royal seal etc
Fourth he requires anger - to go to nandini room, to go to helena room at night etc
With all these issues he is just a baby in pram requiring chankya, mom, grandmom, helena etc to make him take decisions
He could send nandini with maids and soldiers to a safe place like ashram but no he sent her ungaurded
He could listen to nandini and helena not to marry chaya to malay but nooo
