Hello forum waasis,
Its been quite some time since I have written anything and this bit of pure fluff is a product of insomnia and boredom, so not really good work but still...here goes something set far far into Shivika's future...
Shivika OS : Tinges Of Happiness
The crowd erupted into cheers as the young graduate finished her speech and the rest threw their caps into the air!! Within no time, the posh auditorium, which was a paradigm of discipline just minutes before, was streaming with proud members of families trying to reach out to their loved ones dressed in red graduation gowns as chatter and laughter bounced off the walls.
Shivaay tried to get through the crowd himself to find out where she was when he suddenly saw her making her way through the crowd after having seen him, her face flushed from excitement, her long locks of unruly curls, held together by a million clips and yet refusing to stay put, flying about her face, her eyes sparkling as she rushed towards her to hug him as his heart filled with warmth for the love of his life in his arms.
He was proud of her and was not remotely surprised that just being here made him more happy than the 500 crore deal that he cracked with the Japanese company the previous day.
He got into his black Merc and helped her strap on her seat belt, and as he watched her already chattering away, he almost felt bad that no one could make it to the function besides him, even though they had all wanted to. But she had been extremely stubborn as always and insisted that they stay at the hospital where they were obviously needed more.
So will we be going home first or to the hospital?? She questioned him. He replied that they will be going to the latter and she nodded happily.
And then continued where she had left off and he listened to with the same rapt attention that he gave at his business meetings and let her talk, as she regaled him with her unending stories on how her day was, her friends and how Ma had taken pains with her hair and how everyone had said that her speech was fabulous, and how even though it was not possible for everyone in the family to come, she was glad that he could and that dadi had promised to treat her with gajjar ka halwa when she got back home. Her talks alternated between perfect English and perfect Hindi but was occasionally peppered with her mother's famous and catchy phrases that he still took time to decipher after all these years!!
"Pappa, Chotti ma is fine na!! So can we take them and Ma back home today??" Shivaay looked into the piercing blue eyes of his daughter and his smile gave away the answer and she squealed and threw her hands around him for the second time that day.

He watched as Om and Ishaana stayed in the hospital room with their new born Adi and his own daughter reminded him of himself as she took the baby in her arms and told them that she would take up her role as his elder sister very seriously while her Chotti ma had been highly amused and agreed while Om had looked straight at Shivaay and smiled. His niece had made her mother promise to stay with her Chotti ma stating bravely that she would be alright going to her graduation with Pappa alone. She would be a great wall herself, they silently mused.
The hospital however, reminded him of how terrified he was when his Ani was pregnant with Anshi five years back.
He had been terribly angry when he came to know how Ani had hidden the many possible complications of her pregnancy and gone ahead with it despite the warnings from her OBGN. Her reasoning had been simple,he had given her a family to love and cherish and she wanted to have a baby, who was theirs. She knew how protective he was and he would have unnecessarily worried or worse, asked for an abortion on knowing the complications and worrying for her safety. He had coaxed and shouted and even threatened to leave but she had been stubborn. And ultimately, when he had broken down and told her that he couldn't go on living if something happened to her, she had leant her head against his chest and entwined her hands with his and reassured him that she would be fine. After all she was Mrs. Shivaay Singh Oberoi and nothing could ever happen to her!!
And he had to concede, inspite of being furious because as always could never stay angry with her for long. Hell, he couldn't see her silent for 2 seconds. So even though he had gone mad with worry and freaked out internally , he supported her throughout. Ishaana and Om had flown in from London , with her leaving her University course done half way and Om his studio, and Ru and Saumya had tried to alleviate the tense atmosphere in the house while the rest of the family helped out as much as they could.
But all the Oberois had been terrified when their eldest Bahu was admitted in the final month and was fighting for her life after the doctors had to take her in for an emergency C-section and she had barely made it. Shivaay had blamed himself and thought it was his punishment, for all the terrible things that he had done to her in the past and she had unconditionally forgiven and loved him in spite of. He could still hate himself whenever the memories of his past came back to haunt him, his terrible marriage to her, her almost dying because of him in Daksh's hands, him again rejecting her love and losing her again, and finally winning her over. She had held his family together when he couldn't and he couldn't imagine life without her.
He had prayed to every possible God and begged for forgiveness and somehow, they had heard and she had miraculously recovered.
He could never quite describe the feeling when they had held that perfect little bundle that was their daughter for the very first time in their entwined hands , and how Ani had radiated happiness and kissed the top of her head with tears in her eyes. Their baby daughter had scrunched up her nose and yawned and held on to his finger with her tiny little hand and he had fallen in love all over again, both with his wife and his baby daughter.

Later that day, he walked in to the main hall of the Oberoi mansion to the sound of unchecked laughter and silently stood and watched his family. At is daughter who had tried, uncannily like himself, to shrug away vehement praise and adulation from her two daadis for the whole of the evening and was currently seated comfortably on Pinky's lap, listening to some story that she said and giving animated responses in return. Jhaanvi sat speaking to Prinku on the phone. His own wife sat at the far end of the hall, occasionally gazing lovingly at their daughter and everyone else while simultaneously working on what seemed to be her event diary and chattering away to his Daadi, eventually who bade goodnight, got her customary goodnight kiss from Anshi and retired to her room. Saahil sat playing a game of chess with Saumya, while Ru was making a presentation for his office and occasionally giving Saumya advice on the game which she seemed to be blatantly ignoring and hence winning. Papa and Bade papa had retired to the study after dinner and Om and Ishu with their new born too had called it a night.
Shivaay sighed in silent contentment at his picture perfect family and wondered how different things would have been if Ani wasn't with him now. His daughter suddenly threw back her head and laughed again at something Jhaanvi said and a warmth enveloped him and he couldn't believe again at how lucky he was!!
As his thoughts wandered, he caught his own wife staring at him and she beckoned him to sit by her side . And when he did, wrapping his right hand around her waist, leant onto his shoulder, seeking his warmth and gave his hand a gentle squeeze and whispered, "Sometimes, I cant believe it either...But its ok, things may get bad sometimes but we will always be OK" and he was amazed at how she could always read him like an open book.
She entwined her fingers with his and caught his gaze. He was amazed that his heart still skipped a beat when she looked at him like that , when nodded at their daughter, snuggled close to him and whispered in a voice for only him to hear, "I love you, Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi!"
