Is Om really illegitimate?

Hi guys,

I stopped watching Ishqbaaz for the last month bc the whole Daksh drama and Shivaay forcing Annika to marry him was so distasteful to me. So I stopped for a while. But I'm finally almost all caught up. I'm maybe 3-4 episodes behind. Shivaay has found out that Om is illegitimate and has "divorced" Annika, who is still staying in the house for 6 months.

My question is, do you guys think that Om is actually illegitimate? Because Daima didn't actually say Om. Also it seemed like she was trying to say something but Mrs. Khanna stopped her. Thoughts?

i think its a lie made up by tia's mom and that the old nanny was trying to tell shivay that shivay is not an oberoi by birth.

I think non of them is illegitimate. It's just a lie by the Nafaratbaaz to mess up with SSO's already messed up head & blackmail him in divorcing Anika.
If you see yesterday's episode Tia clearly told Anika that she doesn't want anything from Shivaay, what she needed is all that she has gotten out of him already. I feel it's just a blackmail & nothing much!
And if Om was illegitimate, I don't think no matter how good Janvi is as a person, there would have been this difference in her behaviour towards her kids & Om. Even if she tried hard she would not be able to cover it up! And if he was Janvi's & someone's else son, Tej is definitely not someone who would have even seen Janvi's face ever again let alone bring the boy home & raise him as his.

Even I stopped watching the show for almost one month after forced marriage, coz I was really put off by what I saw. I could no longer enjoy ShiVika scenes. Even now, I cant connect to them with those awful images still in my mind. Trust these makers to ruin something.

As for Om being illegitimate, I highly doubt it. I dont think any of it is about Om. Mrs Kapoor just made it about Om coz she knows he is Shivaay's weakness. She is using his love for Om as a weapon. Whatever Shivaay is or is not, he is a great brother, and Mrs Kapoor knows this. Using his best trait against him.

I think there IS some secret, but I dont think it's Om's illegtimacy. I agree with the above comment that there is no way Jhanvi and Tej would love Om so much or favor him above Rudra if this was true. Because it's clear to them he is thier Golden child and they want him to be their crown prince.

I feel it is Shivaye who is illegitimate because so many pointers.

The lady said elder son = shivaye

If you notice, pinky has only one son while Jhanvi has 3. If she could not conceive in first place, she would not have been able to do so. I think Pinky cannot conceive or Shakti had an affair or they did something like sperm donor or something for the kid.

I mean Pinky loves shivaye but she is always thinking of money so yeah

and the most important part;

shivaye always thinks about family and blood. He has to be illegitimate because it will come as a big shock to him and that might change his opinion.

I don't think so. i still think it's rudra that is illegitimate that kid is totally ignored by tej. it's like poor rudra does not exist. I just don't get why only Om can carry the oberoi name. rudra is there. but tej is just obsessed with Om, Om, om

I know why you would think Rudra is illegitimate, but it actually makes no sense for him to be. He is the youngest bar Priyanka. Shivaay and Om would remember him being born, especially Shivaay. There was no talk of TejVhi being overseas at the time Rudra was born. The Nanny clearly said "Bada beta", not Chota. She also said "Oberoi Sahab". She didnt say which one. It could be Tej or Shakti or even their Dad.

Tej ignores Rudra over Om coz Om is the older son, he is his first born, he is sensible and Rudra is still playful and childish. He thinks Rudra is irresponsible. He even told Jhanvi, there is no point relying on Rudra but Om is sensible and I want him to focus on business. I highly doubt it has anything to do with legitimacy. Tej loves all his children. He is just behind Om coz he is his eldest and the one he wants to compete with Shivaay coz they are closer in age. Simple as that!
