Naira (Yeh Rishta Kya Khelata Hai)
Naira is not at all like a typical television leading lady. She is often termed as sherni by Karthik in the show. More than once she has been shown getting into a fight with unknown and dangerous goons. She is simply not scared of anything or anyone! She has led her life away from her home, family and the identity of being a 'Singhania'.
Her years long separation from her family made her tough, strong and resistant towards the adversities of life. She love Karthik dearly, but she didn't accept to change her name in the name of love when Karthik's dadi asked her to do so.
She is her father's princess but not the one who just sits and watches and needs guards by her side to be her protector. Naira is that woman of substance who has a mind of her own and she can fight her battles on her own too. She is not that typical girls type of girl who wants everything 'pink' in her life, in fact, she is by her nature nothing less than a 'tigress'.
Probably these are the qualities that made Karthik fall for her so hopelessly.

God knows how many Indian serials out there and each has at least one female lead but from that only 5 are chosen and our bachi is one of them.
