First of all, I would like to say that you have described the characters well.
Love Vs ObsessionFlawed Vs DamagedDemocracy Vs DictatorshipSubmission Vs SurrenderYou have framed it well.Love Vs Obsession- Love is an innermost feeling of a person. Even hatred is a part of love as you would hate a person whom you would've loved more than your life once upon a time. Obsession is also a part of love. When you love a person more than its limits, it becomes an obsession. Having said that, I would also say that it is not bad as long as you understand the person, respect him/her, give them the space he/she desires. If I talk about love, one would be sensitive to the needs of that person. Love has got no restrictions. You are free to love someone but never expect a person to love you back. If you're destined to get that person, it will happen. If it doesn't happen it means you need to think that person was not meant for you. This is applicable for both women. The common thing between Saanjh and Maya is both of them love the same guy called Arjun. Both the women are right in their place. However, their love is one-sided till date.Saanjh is free to love Arjun but she should understand what Arjun wants. Saanjh's parents & Vandana behave as if Maya has snatched her husband. I say that Saanjh's love for Arjun is not as selfless as one thinks. She too showed her selfishness. She leaves her work and goes to meet Arjun whenever she pleases which is very much unprofessional. She had also gone to the extent of telling Arjun that he should have allowed Maya to jump and die which will solve all the problems. She too is obsessed about Arjun though it may not be as much as Maya's. I don't say that Saanjh is the right woman for Arjun as she annoys him with her possessiveness & nagging.I also don't say that Maya is the right one for Arjun unless she gets rid of her demons. Maya is also free to love Arjun but she needs to understand that money cannot buy love and she cannot build any relationship on the grounds of dishonesty. She needs to take her mother's help by confiding her feelings to her and listen to her advice how she can win Arjun's love by fair means.Flawed Vs Damaged - It all depends on what weaknesses you have. There are 2 types of flaws. one type of flaw can be rectified and the other cannot be rectified which is termed as damaged. Every human being possesses both of them. Flaws can be rectified. However, rectification should not be momentary. It has to be once & for all. If a person does not change once & for all, it means that he/she hasn't really changed. There are also two types of damages. One type of damage is repairable and the other is irreparable. Once the damage is repaired, it won't give that trouble again. In the case of irreparable damage, one needs to start everything afresh as whatever has happened cannot be brought back.As you say that Saanjh is flawed, I go little deeper into it. When I see Saanjh, I feel that she is immature and unprofessional. She does not have any knowledge about the outside world which a good lawyer should possess. Just because Arjun is not picking up her call, it does not mean that she can leave her work spot whenever she wants and barge into Arjun's workplace whenever she desires. Even her brother tells her not to give importance to Arjun unless he comes to her on his own. But she does not listen. She tells him what are you going to take for keeping your mouth shut. Though Suman wants Saajun to be together, she also advises her to give the required space to Arjun instead of behaving like a possessive girlfriend but she does not listen to her either. When Arjun gives an earful for talking ill about Maya, she needs to leave him alone. The more she chases him, the more he will run away from her. My point here is Saanjh repeats her flaws time and again which cannot be considered as a flaw but as an obsession. Sorry to say but that is what is going on the show.Coming to Maya, she has a troubled past and has been oppressed by her father because of which, she is not in a right frame of mind. On any given day, she needs to take her mom to confidence and take guidance from her as far as her personal life is concerned. Whatever has happened in her life cannot be brought back but she can take her mom and Arjun to confidence and overcome her demons and fears which will make her socially acceptable. If required, she needs to take the help from the psychologist or psychiatrist. Having said this, please note that it does not mean that a person going to the psychiatrist is insane. Maya is intellectually very good. All that she needs is true love and emotional support. Only self-realized persons take their help. Maya just needs to do that. If a person is insane, psychiatrists also cannot help them. They have to get admitted to the mental asylum.Democracy & Dictatorship - Democracy means freedom of speech and thought. Dictatorship means doing what other person tells you to do. I don't say that Saanjh is completely democratic and Maya is completely dictating terms to him. I'm sorry to differ from you. There are certain occasions where Saanjh has been dictating terms to Arjun and Maya giving him the space he wants. Yes, Maya as Arjun's boss she has an upper-hand over him. Originally, Maya is his boss. They became friends later. I take it in this way. At the workplace, she is his boss but outside the office, she is his friend. However, Arjun is the person who does not always listen to anyone of them. He is the person to do as he pleases. Arjun comes late to the office daily and Maya is the person who does not entertain latecomers. He has behaved unprofessionally and irresponsibly on many occasions but Maya has been keeping him only because of his performance.Submission Vs Surrender - As you say in spiritual and religious terms, both have the same meaning. But I still find one thing common in the meaning of these two terms, that you've explained. The common thing between the two is you don't fight in either way. In both the ways, you listen to your loved ones and leave the decision to them. The only difference is that in submission, you surrender yourself voluntarily and in surrender, you forcefully submit yourself.Saanjh - She argues, fights and nags Arjun, upsetting him as well as herself. Their fight is mainly about Maya. Basically, she is insecure that Arjun will leave her more than the consequences he is going to face when he accepts Maya's love. She submits herself to Arjun though she does not like it which means that it is not a wholehearted submission.Maya - She does not fight with Arjun too. Everyone conveys Arjun the same thing but their approaches are different. Saanjh and Vandana's approach towards him is the long lectures to him, which won't be easy for him to accept. However, Maya's approach is different. When she told about the environment in which she was brought up, Arjun immediately realized his mistake. Maya only tries to fit herself to the requirements of her loved ones. That does not mean that she has given up.I once again tell you that you have beautifully described these ladies with appropriate words but I've gone little deeper with some examples. However, you have not told about Arjun which I will be telling.Arjun too has got some drawbacks. He and Maya are friends from childhood for the past 20 years. The common thing between Arjun and Maya is both had gone through a very rough phase in their lives in the past. Arjun lost his mom at the age of 6 and he could not digest Vandana entering his life as a mother. Both Arjun and Maya are damaged but the only difference is that Saanjh has been a rescue boat for him as Ayan was too young to understand his feelings after his father's demise. Jhanvi was there for Maya to give the emotional support but she could not see her mom getting tortured by Ashwin. So, she has been suppressing her feelings which became hard on her emotions. She needs emotional support very badly to overcome her monsters within her. Once she does that, she will be a different person and will be socially accepted. It is upto Arjun to decide whom to choose after analyzing what are the flaws he can handle and what he cannot handle depending on his limitations which are not fully known to anyone. Both the women have an equal chance to get Arjun.Saajun - Both have been inseparable friends for the past 20 years. He has been going to Saanjh for solving his problems. Saanjh was taking the trouble to wake him up to help him being on time for his workplace. She had also prepared him for an interview so he could get a job. She has also been happy for him. These qualities bring them closer. Coming to the negativity, Saanjh has always been pushy, immature and possessive. To some extent, she is obsessive about Arjun and Maya which irritates Arjun and makes him drift away from her.Arya - Their relationships started with employer-employee but became good friends when the days passed by. Maya began to develop feelings for Arjun when he saved her from Ashwin. Arjun was there for her when Jhanvi was admitted to hospital after Ashwin had forcefully made her consume sweets, knowing that she is a diabetes patient. From then on, she became ready to do anything to get him. When Saanjh could not bail Ayan the same day, Maya did that. not only that, she indirectly made Arjun realize that he has been rude and unjust to Vandana and united the Sharmas which Saanjh couldn't do. There are romantic scenes between Arjun and Maya. They share a better chemistry. The darker side of Maya is her insecurity and abnormal obsessiveness, which makes her do a lot of wrong things. Before revealing Arjun about her past, she also asked Arjun whether he will run away after listening to her story to which he said, she can try. It means that he is ready to take it as a challenge to make Maya's life colorful and help her to overcome the monsters within her, which will help her to be happy with Arjun or anyone else for the rest of her lives.
NOTE: I've not criticized any of the characters. But a story can be written in many ways without changing the meaning of the title beyhadh. Whatever I've posted, it is not out of assumption though some of them might call it as hypothetical. I've posted this with an open mind.
