Hello everyone!
It's time for a new year and a new anniversary contest! This year may just be our last (who knows). Nonetheless, let's celebrate this year just as happily as all our previous years!
This year the contest will be an individual game. It's time for you to run around the forum, chasing those clues, that will help you solve a very important mystery. That's right. A very important mystery. ACP Pradyuman has called you in because a present gifted to him by his dear friend Dr. Salunkhe has gone missing. It is your duty to find this gift and return it to him. You and only you can do this!

Below you will see the first clue that will lead you to a thread in this forum. Solve it correctly and you'll find the next clue in that thread. Your job is to solve each clue (in order) and get to the next clue. But things aren't as easy as they seem. You don't have to just solve clues, but finish tasks to get clues as well. That's right. Some clues will only be given to you if you finish a task and these tasks will be listed in place of the clue.
Overall there are 15 clues scattered around the forum. Of these 7 clues require tasks. These tasks need to be completed by you and you only. No asking anyone else for help! Once you've completed the task, you need to PM that task to me. A set of impartial judges will mark your entry and give me their marks within 48 hours. You need to achieve at least an average of 5 out of 10 to get the clue. If you don't, then your game will end there.
If you are having trouble with a clue, you can PM me to ask for up to 3 hints. For each hint, though you will lose points from the marks for that clue. Each hint will cost you 3 marks out of 10 with the last one getting you a 0 from that clue as it will be the answer. So be absolutely certain that you need a hint before asking for one! Additionally not every clue has a hint. So if you PM me for a hint and I say that there are no hints, then that means that the clue should be easy enough to solve without any hints! If you persist, then I will give you the answer, but you will not get any points for that clue!
Once you've found the gift, you will PM me the gift and I will add up all your marks from your tasks as well as from each clue to come out with your final total. The first 5 people to send me the gift will get a special bonus mark!

Like any competition, this competition has some rules as well. Those are as follows:

Most tasks will give you a choice. This is so you can do what you are best at. I don't want to make this hard on you so please choose the task you're best at.
All PMs must be sent to me (KS_Minion) only. No one else.
You cannot ask for outside help at any time. Not even for the tasks. There's a reason I'm giving you a choice.
This competition will run the entire month of January, with a final submission date of January 28th, 11:59 PM IST. After this time even if you've found the gift, I won't be accepting any PMs.
No cheating by just searching for the gift. I will be asking for proof that you completed each stage and plus if you haven't completed all the tasks I'll know that you cheated. You will be disqualified and banned from participating in future competitions if you do this.

Remember the point is to have fun and prove that you're a true CIDian! So go out there and kill it!

How do we get tasks?

Will those tasks be mentioned in the clues or we have to PM the clue so that you will give a task?

Is it possible to submit the gift within the deadline?

BTW it is the toughest contest... 😆

I have never been a part in treasure hunt in my lifetime...

Not sure how I am going to do...

Before opting I have a question .

Should every clue be pmed to you ? For eg. if a clue gives me a task , then should I pm you first or after completing the task ?

Ya . it's confusing me too 😕 I am not getting should I just submit the task or pm answer of each & every clue ? 😕😕

Tasks will be mentioned in place of the clues. Say if you solve clue # 4 and head onto the thread where you should get clue # 5. Instead of clue # 5, you might find a title reading Task # 2. You have to complete this task, score at least an average of 5 out of 10 from our judges and then you'll get the real clue # 5 in PM. You continue on until you find the next task similarly.

Yep it is absolutely possible to submit the gift within the deadline. The clues that accompany the tasks should be simple enough to solve. The harder clues are the ones in between.

It'll be fun. Just remember that all clues are in CID forum only. 😉

Above each clue you'll find the number. As long as the numbers are in order you're doing fine. I've tried to pick threads that are reasonably easy to search and the clue will be easy to spot because of the number. Where the threads are really long, I've given hints in brackets on which area to search. So that you don't waste a lot of time.

Nope just PM the tasks. At the end (if you reach the end) I might ask you a few random questions (like tell me which thread clue # 3 leads to) just to be sure that you didn't cheat, but I don't need to know every time you get a clue. If you need a hint though, you will have to PM me.
