Deepika Padukone was recently criticised for her outfit at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA). She was seen in a Monisha Jaising ensemble and netizens couldn't stop slamming her for the choice of an outfit she donned.
During an interaction with a popular international magazine, Deepika finally opened about the criticism she received for the dress. The dimpled beauty stated, "Look, I'm aware that it was a departure for me, but part of the red carpet game is to take risks. Sometimes people love it, and sometimes people hate it."
She further added, "In this case, I felt like a million bucks, so it didn't matter how anyone else reacted."
Talking about the fashion in both Bollywood and Hollywood, DP quoted, "The way people view fashion is identical. Indian designers may embrace ethnic-inspired designs more than American designers do, but ultimately women use fashion as a vehicle for self-expression in both the places. And as important as it is for me to push the envelope with how I dress every so often, I'll always feel most comfortable in a saree."
