watched a few episodes by now. very interesting story line. However, it still not clear to me whether Maya is a nice girl or someone possessed with evil inside. Anyone knows?

Maya's character is very complex. She has her demons, but she's definitely not a negative character. Her past has moulded her into the person she is today. We can't categorise her as 'nice' either because we have all seen her manipulative techniques and plotting. Deep down, she's just a person who has dreams and she wants them to come true, like everyone in this world. What is different about her is that she is completely aware of her influence, power and status which she is willing to use to make things happen like she wishes. She may be using the wrong means but at the end of the day she is just catering to her desires. Maya is neither white nor black, as said in previous interviews, she is a grey character.

Maya is neither a nice girl (in the normal soap sense) neither is she evil.

She's a victim of abuse which in a sense has taken control of her life (if you put her in sanjh or arjuns household, she wouldnt really be able to function cos her world is fundamentally different, her experience and her past is simply not normal)...she's neither had friends nor any good role models (again her mum is a victim too and like some victims she runs back to her abuser a lot but this also has had a negative effect on Maya)

Behaviour is learnt and Maya is the outcome of what her father did and is still doing and how her mother still cant come to terms with how Maya's father is, She doesn't even understand how relationships work (mind you i'm not saying she's not responsible for what she does but its hard to judge her)

Her 'evil' side as you would call it exists because control means everything to her (again she has no control of her life/situation when her father is around and this is the only way she has learnt to combat her demons.
