Well, saanjh words were right but its not right in this situation.. What aswin was doing was sugarcoating his words and making everyone against maya.. Whatever his truth is, he is elder or not, but we cannot deny that aswin desreve that beating from arjun.. His any truth donot justify hitting 9 yr old girl.. And the line applies to saanjh too.. She doesnot know maya side story.. She has half heard aswin but she already choose to believe maya maybe wrong... Her brother rightly said Friendship is trust.. She must trust her frnd.. If she trusts her best frnd, she must hve understood that arjun is doing somethng thn there has to be a reason..he is not mad to hit someone on road.. He surely knws something that made him angry.. In trust we support someone without demanding explanation.. If explanation and reasons are required there is no trust..
Arjun beating Ashwin was wrong. Again, do not get me wrong here, he should have told him to get out and if he didn't listen dragged him out and shut the door on his face and told the family members not to entertain him. If they questioned him, he could always tell them that Ashwin is dangerous, he need'nt divulge details but could say Ashwin is a manipulative and bad person. The family would understand. Beating him is taking law into his own hands. Again, im not commenting or disagreeing that ashwin deserved the beating, he sure did, but just not from Arjun. But considering the kind of character arjun is, it is okay for him as a character maybe.
As for Saanjh, of course she trusted Arjun. She asked him to tell her the truth right. Wasn't that trust. Asking Arjun what exactly he knew meant she believed Arjun would not beat him without reason. It was arjun who didn't trust Saanjh, and tell her the truth. Note here, I don't expect him to. But arjun owed some explanation to his family and Saanjh as to why he behaved that way. Had Ashwin died, Arjun would be in trouble right. So Saanjh demanding an explanation wasn't wrong. And I also disagree when u say that she chose to believe maybe Maya is wrong. If she did then she wouldn't have wanted to hear the full truth. She wouldve nagged Arjun and accused Maya of not defending her own father.
@TM I loved that line too. Nice post.
