Visaranai was India's entry for the Foreign Language Film category. It is not in the 9 films that have been shortlisted. Majority of the 9 are European, as usual. Don't understand why we bother sending them content-driven movies, those Americans only want to see poverty po*n stuff like Slumdog Millionaire, as they want to see stereotypes like Indians shitting on the road and dancing in a train 😉

Exactly. I am not sure if the Academy awards selection procedure is genuine but I don't believe an American platform has to recognize Indian movies, mostly they don't understand us,as you said stereotyped.
