Barely four months after it hit the tube, Sony Entertainment Television has decided to pull the plug on the TV show 'Ek Rishta Saajhedaari Ka'. Launched amid much fanfare, the channel had huge expectations from it because of its unique concept. However, the show is now set to end on January 20 as it failed to climb the ratings chart. The cast and the crew have been informed of the development.
A source associated with the show told us, "The makers had pumped in a lot of money in the show and were expecting great ratings over the concept of falling in love after an arranged marriage. It failed to rake in sustainable ratings, forcing the channel to take the decision to wrap it up."

i posted this article as many were in doubt that KRPKAB may end soon after yesterday's episode

Oh man...thats sad news. I nvr watched the show but to axe it in just 4 mnths is so sad for all actors, support staff n audience. So of the 5 shows started ib Sona only our show has survived and Beyhadh is still new.

@randommusings true our show's trp is not good either n i hv never watched ersk show too but its unfair to end a show within 4months when no daily soap is doing wonders in trp race on their channel.
sony 's promotional strategy is weird too ,whole day they show only CID ,crimepatrol, kapil show😕

Not a good news for KRPKAB ...with Ek rishta going off air out show will be the one with least TRP on Sony channel unless a new show doesn't take off .Next in line is our show .

If bajiroa replaces ek rishta then chances are high that new serial will gain TRP as mythological shows do good on Sony

agree n ifeel our show will end in march or feb end

I feel the same...Show will last max feb-march lil can be more...This show will not end because of low TRP for sure...Because production house is like that they never deliver anything OTT just for trp as Shah mentioned in one of IV...This show story can be go max to max more 3-4 months...after that also they want to stretch that...no use for show n even for leads too...As we all know that our 3 leads are not happy...if OTT factor will come...They will not happy more...So I want the show maintain the quality...till then we watch with love...we get good episodes and enjoy the show...SonyTV will not end KRPKAB like ek doose or EKSK for sure...This show gave to SonyTV one milestone in heart of fans.

There is no point in worrying about KRPKAB going off air. This show was always supposed to be a finite series and a good 300 episodes with a solid content are more than enough to narrate any story. we dont need meaningless tracks, and a never ending saga in the name of daily soap.
