Yes , its better for the ladies. Yet Alia grabs the best roles šŸ˜‰. We do have a big list of star/industry daughters as well...Sonam Kapoor, Shradha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Athiya Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha, Kareena, Karishma, Kajol, Rani,Tabu, Raveena etc ..

For "outsider" actresses , I think its the lack of 'safety net' of industry insiders that works as an incentive for the film-makers šŸ˜’

But that is also changing
Last female actress(outsider) that made a mark- I can only think of Jacq and with field of Jhanvi, Sara coming in fray - they are going to get more backing from likes of Karan with outsiders only getting 2-3 min sidekick roles. Where is Kriti, Yami - They are stuck with doing Sanam re's! Nepotism Zindabad

i dont like alia ,but she does act well,as for varun he has the best bo record till now
these days its more about who has the best bo track than this outsider vs insider thingy
its not just bw ,if you look hollywod has that as well, its a common thing
likes of clooney, gweth paltrow, drew barrymore, jake gyllenhall ,mellisa mccarthy, tony goldwyn etc
and now meryl streep daughters , will smith son etc etc
its a common thing everywhere
just that half of those people over there don't care

Gerua...you are absolutely right! Things are better for the ladies. The industry is always on the lookout for a pretty & new face. However, the pattern is getting slightly alarming & veering towards increased nepotism in the last few years .

PC: 15 years old in the industry
DP: debuted 10 years back
Kangana: 10 year old in the industry
Kat: 13-14 years in the industry
Anushka: debuted around 7 yrs back.

The major debuts of last 6 years:
Shradha Kapoor
Alia Bhatt
Sonakshi Sinha
Athiya Shetty
Akshara HAssan
Parineeti Chopra

And the major upcoming debuts: Sara( who had the luxury of saying no to big names & still get offers), Jhanvi Kapoor.

Amongst the outsiders, only a few name come to mind & not everyone could make a foothold in the industry:-

Kriti Sanon, Yami Gautam, Daisy Shah( courtesy Bhai), Diana Penty, Vaani Kapoor.

Yes, during the 80s & 90's , things were much better, in the context that we had outsiders ( with promise & talent) , given a fair chance in the industry , whereas , starkids, if not talented, were booted out. So you had a Jackie, Mithun da, Govinda, Akshay Kumar, Shahrukh Khan etc who were wholeheartedly accepted . And a Kumar Gaurav, Kunal Goswami , Karan Kapoor, Puru Raj Kumar etc inspite of having superstar fathers, never achieved much success or fame. Only a Sanjay Dutt & Sunny Deol lasted the longest from that generation of star-kids, but they do have something special...camera loves them & so do their fans.

However, in the last decade, things have changed. For various reasons, the longevity of the male actors has increased. So the top-10 actors are more or less, still the same old names...Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hritik Roshan, Ajay Devgun!! The only new entrants in the list are Ranbir Kapoor & Ranveer Singh. And both are related to people in the industry. So , maybe, its not stretching the truth too far if one says that in the last few years, there are increased instances of "nepotism " in Bollywood. It took SSR & Ayusman Khurana a good 10-15 years of struggle to get their first breaks in Bollywood.šŸ˜•. And , if these 2 outsiders deliver 2-3 flops, no one will touch them. But the star-kids do get a lot of chances, get re-launchedšŸ˜†

Now see the current list: ( strictly my opinion):-

Sooraj Pancholi: star-kid...talent:
Tiger Shroff : star-kid...talent:
ARK: powerful brother. talent: 🄱Okay.
Pulkit Samrat: powerfil-BIL: Talent : Okay🄱
Varun Dhawan: star director-kid . Talent:😃
Arjun Kapoor: Star-producer-kid. Talent:😊

SSR: Outsider: Good actor
Ayushman: Outsider: Good Actor
Sidharth Malhotra: Outsider but multi-talentedšŸ˜‰šŸ˜†

According to you,sid is multi talented but varun, tiger doesnt have talent?..Are you joking

edunn... Yes, the Sid M comment was a joke actually!
And I have clearly given the biggest thumbs up to Varun( amongst star-kids) in terms of talent.

Also, as i said before, its strictly my opinion. Others might have a different point of view. 😊

Alia has talent yaar. The people who rejected her after watching SOTY are praising her after Two States and Highway and other movies. So I dont find it any wrong what KJo do becoz he consider her like his child.
Even in family business, first we go for our family member to take over. So I dont find it disturbing, it's natural tendency. the new talents will emerge when these insiders fail to make a mark. Like that Masaan guy. :- Vicky Kaushal. he will be better option if star kids fail.

The kids who are poor performers will fade away automatically when the movie flops.
