Akki's Reply to Aamir's Money Making Machine Comment on KWK

It is no secret that Akshay Kumar is perhaps the shrewdest actor in Bollywood when it comes to economics. He is one of the highest paid actors in the world and was even listed by a magazine to be ahead of Hollywood hotties like Mark Wahlberg and Johnny Depp. It is not surprising since he has around four releases every year, which is higher than any of the Khans, Aamir, Salman or Shah Rukh. His acumen has been acknowledged by his peers and recently Aamir Khan said that he would like to take money-making tips from the actor.

In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Akshay Kumar reacted to the statement. He said, "Ha, trust the highest grossing actor to want to ask me such a question! Unfortunately I'm on an outdoor shoot, with limited access to television, so am unaware of his statement and wouldn't want to comment on anything unbeknown to me. My only tip for anyone is if you want to earn more, then make more."

Hmmm...that is surely the most obvious way out. Aamir Khan's usually does one film a year. Dangal is coming after PK, which was in 2014. Compare it to Akshay Kumar's releases - Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers and Singh Is Bling in 2015. This year, he had three hits already like Rustom, Airlift and Housefull 3. We know the actor gets a share from the ticketing revenue along with his fee, which is quite staggering. In June 2016, we heard that Akshay was charging more than superstar Rajinikanth for 2.O, where he plays a villain. ()


The actor also had a comment about the Khan trio's decision to take it slow and do just one film a year. He told the publication, "But for some reason they seem to be taking it slow. Even I find it hard to wait so long for their films to release. I'm glad that Salman and Shah Rukh have started doing at least two films annually because I genuinely look forward to their movies. It is brilliantly intense that someone like Aamir (earlier even SRK) released only one film a year sometimes, but I miss them on the big screen. I can only imagine how their fans feel."

It's all random. Sometimes you do one movie a year and it runs huge like sultan. But then Hrithik/Ranveer had one movie this year and they didn't run at all. Akshay had multiple movies this year and all of them but the bullseye. But then he himself has other years where his films couldn't hit the broadside of a barn 😆
