Who should play Guru Dutt?

With increased love for biopics and their mouth watering returns, there is a sudden rush to cash in the popularity. While some passed with flying colors , others failed miserably. If Bollywood wants a enigmatic director who had social conscious but not the Bo skill to match, Bo success but not satisfaction for it, internal satisfaction but got failure for it. A tortured soul who seems to have lost his sense of happiness and who saw more failures for his personal movies and Bo sucess when he compromised. There is so much in his short but eventful life- abhimaan like marriage except he was tone deaf, one sided Darr like obsessive love for waheeda, orson Welles like mad genius, friendship with superstar Dev anand whose initial career he shaped, mentor to raj kosala - genius behind some of the best thrillers. There is much more in life of this rebel director who committed sucide after upteemth attempt and whose death can be stark reminder of how little we understand depression.

Anybody but Amir and surprise us by not picking RK

Aditya Roy Kapoor. He has the looks as well as the pathos that gurudutt carried. Also I feel he's extremely underrated actor..more so because the guy is super laid back/lazy to promote himself else with the following he has he shud've been a star by now if not a superstar.

I'd rather see Irfan Khan play that role. He would be perfect...

Only Amir khan..i am not Amir fan but he will be perfect as guru dutt.

Among the star actors, Aamir is the only one with the gravitas to play the role. Otherwise, someone like Irrfan would be great.

He had a sad childhood from what l gather, that could be the reason for his depression.

One of the older star who became candid in older age talked about it. He had phases. Still it can't take away his genius.
