Befikre had a good first day of around 10.25-10.50 crore nett as it scored well at multiplexes all over the country. The business at single screens was not good as the demonetization issue continues in smaller centres and this has led to a limited release in single screens. It meant places like UP, Gujarat and Central India markets did not get optimum release though on the other hand the film is also not for those markets as well. Still a full out release would have bumped up opening day collections a little though these extra screens were unlikely to grow over the weekend. The film is the fourth highest Ranveer Singh opener after Gunday, Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani but here he is the only face and the canvas of the film is not as big as those films.
The film has a start but now its about the where the weekend goes and being a multiplex film it will need growth on Saturday. It does not need huge growth but a normal jump which is 15-20% for a multiplex film would put it in a good position. The film took an opening in morning shows yesterday as it was a very youth centric film and while this allows that first morning start it also does make the weekend tougher as its impossible to say whether families will come over the weekend and this audience does make the growth easier to come by.
The best business for the film came in Delhi NCR as Delhi city, Noida and Gurgaon fetched strong numbers, This was followed by other metros like Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune.
