I found this first night scene of CN too very different and interesting like the other first night scenes of Chandra with Helena and then Durdhara. The whole scene between Chandra and Nandini looked very cute and adorable.
Chandra furious at first that Nandini was again upto something suspicious, and then his incredulity that she was smuggling in books when he was supposedly expecting her to smuggle in poisonous substances or weapons, the minute changes in Rajat's expressions were epic.
Though given the kind of revenge both of them harbor for each other, it was too soon to see each of them melting. But the phase of blow hot and blow cold between the leads has started. I am looking forward to wht happens further in the story.
Nandini has a beautiful dream of her father making a spirit visit to her. When does this happen? Immediately after the first night when both she and Chandra spend some sensible moments and words and he permits her to study further. Subconsciously she has begun seeing her father in Chandra I feel.
Helena as usual begins throwing her weight around and behaving in an unpleasant fashion. She makes a few arbitrary changes in the palace management which appear like ego trips rather than a queen taking charge or organizing things in the palace.
The insistence on the biggest room for her and her mother, the smallest rooms for Nandini and the other ladies in her family, and her ugly spat with Moora about the same left a bad taste in the mouth. I wonder what happened to the original Helena we saw earlier on the show. This one really looks like a changeling ! The original one though grey was classy and a woman of substance. This one looks especially unappealing.
The snankaksh scenes finally make an entry. God knows how long poor Rajat has been taking a bath. Helena comes, wipes him dry or wet, I could not get, ogles at his bare back and later chest, has a seductive conversation with Chandra and leaves. Chandra is confused.
Now it's Nandini's turn to interrupt Chandra. She is informed by her Tun Tun bhabhi that Dhananand has been given death penalty by Chandra in the court earlier today (Just a nagging doubt! Didn't Chandra have a bath before going to court?)and even Nandini turns up at the same Snankaksh and again wipes him dry and begins her tears ki barsat flooding poor Chandra in them again, Chandra is doubly confused now.
All he needs at the present moment is for even Durdhara to turn up here, wipe him dry and give him a big lecture about the importance of mercy which dropeth from the heaven like rain, and the poor chap is going to catch a bad cold and end up triply confused.
