Actor Drashti Dhami has been a television star for more than nine years now. She has starred in multiple hit shows and has also been witness to the change in the industry over the years. She feels TV content has seen a good change in recent times. "Audiences have started liking different content, but they need to evolve. They should let us give them something new. We are slowly getting there, as we have moved on from the saas-bahu soaps and the doormat women themes, and are doing shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum, where the protagonist plays an IPS officer. In the future, we will be able to give better content," she says.

Supernatural themes are currently prevailing on television, but Drashti doesn't see any harm in such serials. She says, "I don't watch TV often, but I know of people who love such shows. These shows are good, and that's why they are working. Look at their ratings. People want to be entertained and we want to be able to do that."
While she is a popular actor, Drashti says she is grounded and "is as normal as any other girl". So, is she treated like a star at home? "Not at all. I wouldn't want to be either. Still, when I go home, I pick up dishes from the dining table and even wash them, if needed. I would be cool with sweeping and mopping the floor too. I have household help, but if they need help when guests come over, I help them.

My husband (Niraj Khemka) and I have a habit of cleaning the room before we sleep. We put everything in its place and don't leave things lying around. I've an obsessive compulsive disorder (for cleanliness). I would clean my own bathroom, given a choice. I am glad I am not treated as a star, but like a normal girl (at home)," says Drashti.
