Ranveer & Kareena most stylish celebs 2016

This year has seen the rise of the Bollywood celebrities on the global fashion stage. But this year is slightly different thanks to two individuals who have completely changed the fashion game in India - Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranveer Singh, both of whom have emerged as the most stylish Bollywood actors of the year, according to Yahoo's Year in Review 2016 study.

Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrating her maternity and making being pregnant stylish has not only given fashionistas maternity-wear goals, but also managed to break so many stereotypes and social taboos'. Previously, women - especially from the film fraternity - would go under the radar after announcing their pregnancy. Staying away from public events, from getting clicked by the paparazzi or even talking much about it. The Jab We Met actress, who is expecting her first child in December, has turned each and every social norm of the kind around, and has done it with immense grace and boldness too.

Ever since the news of her pregnancy was confirmed to the media, Kareena has continued to stay in the spotlight, glowing even more with every subsequent appearance. She has beautifully shown that comfortable maternity wear need not look dowdy or misshapen, and showing off the belly bump is much better than trying to cover it up with baggy clothes. And if model Carol Gracias became the first Indian pregnant model to walk the ramp, then Kareena turning showstopper for Sabyasachi Mukherjee's Illumination collection at the Lakm Fashion Week simply took the social statement to a whole new level - a pregnant woman dressed as a bride, a showstopper for a bridal collection - putting paid to the age-old notion that pregnancy halts all professional commitments.

She even spoke freely about her pregnancy, making sure she pointed out that it wasn't something out of the norm, and that life does continue - in all aspects, including professional - along side. No wonder then, she has been hailed the most stylish Bollywood actress of the year.

Which brings us to the male counterpart of this coveted title - Ranveer Singh. A mine of energy, who has deconstructed and destroyed all fashion norms - both casual and formal, Singh has carved out a pedestal for himself in the fashion industry. Not only is he a celebrated actor, who is known for his commitment to his work and directors, but his unbound and infectious energy envelopes everyone in the vicinity at every public appearance.

He's worn baby prints, rainbow-splattered overalls, sported outrageous hats and canes, rocked pyjamas at a concert and a lungi on the red carpet - Ranveer Singh is the first original male fashion icon, and there is no denying that. In fact, if one had to really type cast Singh's style statement, then it would be - expect the unexpected. It's his complete confidence in himself and his attire that allows the Ram-Leela actor to carry off all these crazy looks admirably.

Singh has shown how the Indian male dress does not have to be restricted to just shirts, trousers, jackets and kurta-pyjamas, but exploring a whole gamut of varying styles is not only possible, but looks amazing too! No wonder, the most stylish male actor of the year goes to Ranveer Singh; and we have a feeling, the best is yet to come.
