Vir Das Delivered A Fitting Reply To All The Bhakts' Threatening Our Right To Question

In our country, our fundamental right to freedom of speech has been under threat. Certain factions in society have launched onslaught of threats against people who have an opinion different from their own. We as a people have become intolerant of anyone whose opinions or arguments may make us question our own.

Vir Das, in his latest Potcast' touches upon this threat to our freedom of speech. He addresses the bhakts' and the trolls' who tend to have a sense of entitlement just because they're supporters of a party in power. He urges society to be unafraid to have an opinion, unafraid to voice that opinion and unafraid to ask a question.

so the freedom of speech and expression applies to only those who are in

the so called " not in power " ????

everyone has the power , with your right to vote, right to fair usage of Internet

and right to put across your opinion...

where was his comments when a Professor of Jadavpur University was jailed for posting a meme of the Cm of the State ?

He was released with full honours by the Court..

Judicial Sovereignty still exists in this country to right the wrongs even if you think everything has failed, unlike Dubai where you recently purchased your luxurious villa Vir Das, oh and an island too apparently ... and how about talking about the human rights abuses while you are there spending your vacation... ??? nah you don't have the balls to do that...( a statement used by him in a comedy show to describe an effeminate guy, it was all humour apparently )

if you wanna question the wrongs, question the wrongs everywhere, not just against one particular government that is targeting your unaccounted wealth and turn a blind eye against another that stones people to death, just because you get to spend all your black money there

and moving on, why should he even bother to ask about other countries before even questioning his own?

maybe some need to have the BALLS to question their own govt before pointing fingers. 🥱

be it politicians, actors, cricketers... even on this forum i see sense of entitlement when people tell someone to shut up, because they are a fan of The Loser.

Nowadays u are entitled to have an opinion if u are mocking our govt., speaking against religions, festivals, country or army... But if u express ur disapproval for any of these , u are being labelled as a bhakt... So we are not entitled to have a cpunter opinion right?? What a hypocrisy!

Darling it works both ways.. bhakts also call libtards/Aaptards/sickular.. so dont play victim.. I HV been called enough names on twitter bcz I oppose demonitisation. no one is sane.it works from both sides

i don't know what threatening are they talking about??? I have only seen ppl trying to shove their opinions... Zabardasti ka intolerance issue create krna chahte h... Actually ever since modi govt came, ppl have been so pissed off that they are trying a zabardasti ka issue called as Intolerance... Jabki it has been happening before as well... Infact i have heard about worse cases in reality, that were not even highlighted!
