Some astrologers even combine computerized astrology with psychic senses...one person could know the real nature of a person from a handful of rice touched by that person.
But the thing to remember is predictions are made on the probable outcome based on how stars were aligned at time of birth.
One can CHANGE the outcome by ones intention and force of action to get the result one wants. this is what the book Secrets is based on. I've seen a very accurate astrologers prediction that a person won't get any job for eight months, proved wrong and the person getting just the type of job she wanted because of strong intention and actions, affirmations, patience and not giving it up. The predictions are there, and will take effect but can be changed by a person.
In the book Autobiography of a Yogi, a swami picks up a burning log and hits a devoted disciple with it...the other disciples are aghast, the swami explains that is was the fate of that particular chela to die by burning because of what he did in a previous lifetime, but the swami annulled that fate and changed it to just severe but momentary pain instead of burning by death because of the good acts of the chela. Of course, it needs a very holy person to be able to do that. But the point is, fate can be changed.
Similarly, even if something good is indicated by the birth chart, if that person does evil, then the fate automatically changes and becomes negative. As for those who practise black magic and the like, never mind them, the bad karma follows thru the generation, the kids, the grandkids..death, paagalpan, failure...follows until one of them realised and does huge amends for that forefather. Or fore mother who sinned.
