Sartaj at the party

So at the party, Sartaj seemed to be enjoying himself and everyone else's company. What confuses me is that just a few days ago, he was having a difficult time with all the noise and people who welcomed him home. Sure, he must have been anxious because it hadn't been too long since he got out, but how was he able to change all of that in just a few days?

And how was he thrown in the pool laughing and smiling? He had so much trouble with water just the other day, and that was in a calm and controlled environment. I almost thought he had a general fear of water. But he had no problems being tossed into a large body of water, and I thought there was some disconnect there. I get that the atmosphere was jovial and he may be more comfortable around people now, but it still felt strange. I was worried for him until I saw that he was happy with it.

What do you guys think?

@The Machine Sartaj is actually contradicting himself in many occasions. I feel the problem is unlike Imaan whatever the funda is Sartaj is not convinced of it.

Especially when he returns home to a wife who has been waiting for him 17 years, a father and neighbors who considers him patriotic.

Imaan is sure of his loyalties while Sartaj is not. He has conflicting emotions and those emotions show in various ways.

For me Vikram has to capitalize on this weak link

The apt description for Sartaj. He conflicts himself a lot of times. And it is extremely tough for us to understand this. He is a very fluctuating being. Who's stability of mind changes with the changing surroundings, with the changing people and with changing situations.

I dont find t strange(diff opinion might be)

both the situations and surrounding were different

its not that sartaj is afraid of water...it was more about the way water was poured

Throwing in swimming pool happened in a jolly environment with laughter n fun and he he was surrounded by many people so it did not impacted him where as the scene with harleen had surrounding exactly like jail -alone in a closed room and someone pouring water on you from head to toe and that is the reason he got violent, he was immediately reminded of jail n water torture

Exactly iman's company comforts him otherwise he remains tensed and nervous

[Former] Squadron Leader Imaan's company comforts [Former] Naib Subedar (JCO) Sartaj because of the "dark secret" they share and moreover, because of what Sartaj went through all these 17 years can be best understood (understatement) by only Imaan. Infact, the latter even made sure that officers from Indian Army should be also present at the party so that there's no chance of the former feeling lonely (as confirmed by story developments in latter episodes that despite of going through {'indescribable'}, he still takes pride in being a soldier than a common, family-man). He now trusts him even more than his own family, let alone his so-called 'wife' who is 'alien' to him (i.e. he barely got to know her)! 😳
