At one time when DP had patched up with Ranbir and signed YJHD Sonam had taken a dig at her for patching up with him for the sake of her career. Now that Papa has no money left to finance Sonam's films as his money is diverted to Harsh's films did Sonam also have to swallow her pride like DP did years ago and sign a SPECIAL APPEARANCE opposite Ranbir?
SONAM'S COMMENTS:
In an interview given to TOI in 2011, she had said, "Well, it was Ranbir who started it all by saying 'Sonam is not sexy'. I just shot back and said 'Ranbir is not sexy'. If a man says it, chalta hai. But when a woman says the same thing, nahi chalta hai? That's sexist! Why should I say 'sorry' to him? Just because his father made a hue and cry about it? If Ranbir apologises to me, I shall too." To which, Ranbir had said, "She is a bit of a drama queen but I like her." And Sonam shot back, "I am an actress, darling. If I don't do drama, who else will?" The war of words continued for a while and the 'friendship' went down the drain. So much so that Ranbir's friend, Vicky Singh, had to shelve a film in 2011 which he had planned with the duo during their Saawariya days.

RISHI COMMENTS ON SONAM AND DEEPIKA
When pointed out that it wasn't the host but Deepika and Sonam who poked fun at his laadla, Papa Kapoor says, " Well to put things in the right perspective, all I can say is that with both the girls it is a case of sour grapes. I have known Sonam's father Anil for years. All I will say to the girls is: in stead of doing all this ' concentrate on your careers. Why do you run shows that have so much gossip? I have done Koffee With Karan earlier with Neetu, my brothers and sister; there was great camaraderie and laughter on our show. We didn't run anyone down. I don't think you should encourage people to wash dirty linen in public. You will never see Ranbir running anyone down." When asked if he'd tried to talk to Anil about Sonam's comments, Rishi says, " What can I say to Anil? Everyone is family here and these girls are like my children. I don't want to get into fights involving my son's friends.
It just shows their ( Deepika and Sonam) class. I would like to tell them to stop giggling all the time and instead grow up and behave maturely. They are there on the show because they are their father's daughters and not because of their work! I would advise them to stop talking about their colleagues and running them down."
