Chapter 19 ~ Suryabhan Meets Jodha
Recap - Jalal and Jodha spends some special moments together before the wedding, Jodha decides not to change her mind about revealing her relationship with Jalal to her parents. Someone sees Jodha sending Jalal and his parents off.
A week later, JM Corp.
After a week off, Jodha finally went back to work. She had been missing Jalal while she was on leave but she was happy to catch up with her cousins who were also attending the wedding that the week past by fast.
The first thing she did after greeting her colleagues was meet Jalal. She told him everything that had take place after he left, even pass Sukanya and Raghav's regard to him. She was then informed that she was to accompany Atgah to a business meeting that afternoon.
As Jodha was walking pass the reception area after lunch, she saw a man asking for her. The man was quite young though she has no idea why he was asking for her for she doesn't recognize him. Before she could go find out who he is, she was called by Atgah to leave for the meeting.
Meanwhile Suryabhan who was desperate to finally meet Jodha was disappointed to find out that she was not at the office and decided to wait for her to return. Jalal on the other hand had overheard Suryabhan asking for Jodha and wondered who he was to address Jodha on first name basis, feeling a little disturb by the other's decision to wait on Jodha's return.

Jodha's Place
Mainawati was already making plans on how to let Suryabhan and Jodha meet each other hence when she received a call from the former asking her permission to meet Jodha in her work place she had thought it the best plan. She had went as far as to tell Suryabhan that he also had her permission to fetch Jodha home and that she will let Bharmal know of this sudden plan.
Bharmal finally picked up the phone call from his wife that he was ignoring "Hello. What is it Mainawati?"
"Ji, I called to inform you that you will not have to pick Jodha up from work today."
"What do you mean? Will Das be fetching her from work?"
"No, Suryabhan wants to meet her. He has gone to her work place to meet her and will go out with her and bring her home."
"What?! Maina, you know we have yet to tell Jodha about Suryabhan and now you are saying that he is meeting her? What would she say?"
"She will not say anything, I will call her up and ask her to come home with him."
"Maina this is too much! I can't believe we are lying to our own daughter!"
"Don't raise your voice at me! I know what I am doing, and I only want what is best for my daughter!"
"Oh so she is your daughter huh? Is she not mine then?"
"Bharmal how could you?! You know I didn't mean it that way! What is wrong with you? Why are you acting this way?"
"There's nothing wrong with me, as a matter of fact now everything is right. I don't want anything to do with this anymore Maina, I can't lie to my daughter anymore!"
"You agreed! How could you turn your back on me now?!"
"I never agreed to any of this Maina, I wanted to ask Jodha but you decided to ignore me. I can't do this right now, I'm busy." Bharmal said and hung up leaving a bewildered Mainawati on the other end of the phone.

After the business meeting was over, Jodha received a phone call from Jalal stating that the man she saw earlier at the reception area was still there waiting for her.
"Are you perhaps feeling jealous?" She teased.
He smiled as he replied "I am not, because I know that you love me and it won't change no matter what happens."
"... ..."
"I wish I am there right now to see that blush of yours adorning your cheeks. It's really a pity that I am here all alone missing you. And now I am missing out on that lovely smile you have on because of what I just said."
Jodha couldn't believe that Jalal has her all figured out. "Enough with the teasing now, and don't worry I will keep my distance from that person. Though I have to wonder how he knows me."
"I agree, it would be better to keep some distance from him. Besides, I'm getting a really bad feeling about him. I will hang up now, bye."
"Bye."

5.30pm, JM Corp.
When Jodha was back at the office, she wasn't greeted by the man she saw earlier as she expected. Upon inquiring the receptionist about him to which the former had no idea about, she decided to get back to work since it was almost time to go home and waited for someone to call her when that man came back.
Moti came over to her desk and asked her about the man "Hey Jodha, who is that man who has been waiting for you since you left for the meeting?"
"I don't know Moti, I have never met him before."
"He seems to know you quite well to call you by you first name."
"Why are you and Jalal asking me the same thing?"
"You mean to say Mr, Muhammad knows about him too? What did he say?"
"Yes, he overheard that man speaking to the receptionist. And he asked if I know him and why he calls me by my first name. Oh and he doesn't feel good about that man being here."
"Well I agree with him, that man is also giving me the creeps by the way he has been waiting for you for the past hour."
"I don't know Moti, honestly I have yet to meet him so I can't say for sure if he is a creep or not but since both you and Jalal are wary of him, perhaps I should be careful with him?"
"You should Jodha, be careful I mean since you don't know him and also..." Before Moti could finsh what she wanted to say, Jodha's mobile phone rings.
"Hello maa? Why are you calling me right now? Is something wrong? "
"No beta, everything is fine. I just wanted to tell you that your papa will not be able to fetch you today."
"Oh, then will bhaiya be fetching me today?"
"Das can't make it either, that's why I sent my friend's son to come pick you."
"Your friend's son?" Jodha asked looking towards Moti and Jalal who just came out of his office.
"Yes, Suryabhan will bring you home tonight beta. You just follow him okay?"
"But maa, I don't know him, how can I just follow him?"
"Beta, Suryabhan is a very nice boy. You will be safe with him."
"I could just take the bus home or take a ride from Moti maa.Why trouble him?"
"Jodha, just come home with him okay? You don't have to trouble Moti and taking the bus is dangerous, just follow him do you understand?"
"Yes maa." Jodha ended the call. "I can't believe this! Maa sent that man over to take me home." She told Moti and Jalal.
"Why would she do that?" Moti asked.
Before Jalal could say anything, Suryabhan comes over and says " Hello Jodha, Mainawati aunty ji asked me to fetch you home. If you are done then perhaps we could leave?"
Jodha was tongue-tied, she now understands the reason behind Moti and Jalal's wariness of the man. Indeed he acted as though he knew her for long when in truth he doesn't. Why is he behaving this way with her when this is the first time they meet.
She wanted to say no but she couldn't speak, just as she mustered her courage to speak Jalal beat her to it saying "I'm sorry but Miss Sharma is accompanying me to a business meeting right now."
"But she just got back from a meeting did she not?" Suryabhan asked.
"Yes she did, however there is another business meeting that she will have to go to."
"Surely someone else could accompany you there? It's not like she is the only secretary here." Suryabhan spoke arrogantly annoying Jalal who was fighting to keep his cool for no one had ever dared to speak to him this way.
"I'm afraid she has to be the one since she is most familiar about what the meeting is about."
"Well then perhaps I could have a word with your senior manager and ask him to find a replacement for you?" Moti and Jodha were both shocked with the way Suryabhan told Jalal off.
"That will not be necessary." Jalal said giving Suryabhan a little pleasure for this small victory before giving back to that arrogant man who was wearing a smile on his face thinking he had won "There's really no need to disturb my senior manager for such a small thing as the final decision is mine to make. If I said Miss Sharma is to accompany me then he would agree with me because I hold a higher position here than him." Jalal replied with his signature smirk on him.
"What do you mean?" Suryabhan asked confused.
"I am the CEO of this company and I get the final say on the many decisions that is to be made and since Miss Sharma is my secretary, I fully intend on taking her to the meeting with me and not someone else who has no idea what the meeting is about. If you are clear then perhaps you could leave as we are getting late and I would appreciate it if you do not waste anymore of my time here."
Suryabhan had nothing to say for he was shocked to find out that the man who seemed younger to him was not a manager but the CEO of this company and he had unintentionally made an enemy out of him due to his arrogance. As Suryabhan pondered on the fact that he made a fool out of himself in front of his bride-to-be Jodha, he could only dejectedly leave the place without Jodha.
Meanwhile Jodha and Moti who had recovered from the shock they had, both having firsthand experience on seeing Jalal's famous come back' after making his rivals feel as though they had won. As they left the office, Moti on her own whereas Jodha followed Jalal. All of them were ready to forget this incident but somewhere far in their mind they were thinking why would Jodha's mother send some arrogant stranger to pick her up.
I'm not too happy with this chapter, I don't know maybe because there's a lot going on now in the story. I've edited this chapter so many times before choosing to end it like this.
