CHAPTER 4

Manik frowned as he saw Nandini coming up to him with bundles of stuffs in her hands. With fumbling steps she reached him and thumped the stuffs aside dusting her hands. He rolled away his eyes and went to lie near window and stared out blankly. She picked out all the painting stuffs and placed in front of him while he gave a least bothered towards it..lost in his own world

Nandini: Ayyapa buddhi deh tuhme..din bhar yeshe hi pade rehte hoh..isshe acha lets paint something..lets play with colors..red..green..yellow..blue sab kuch

with that she made him sit comfortably and opened up all the paints dipping her hands on them and started painting a random picture on nearby wall while he gave a blank face. She sighed and dipped his hands on colors and placed near her hand on the wall.

Nandini: Ab paint karne ka matlab thodi yeh hai ki sab kuch perfect hoh..duniya mai kuch perfect nahi hota..life koh apni dhang sai rango..pyaar sai rango toh dekho..kitna khoobsurat banta hai who..chalo lets start

with that she roamed her hand around the wall with him and he stared at the colors which was missing from his body and life. Soon a soft smile crept on his face seeing the beautiful colors' and started painting out like mad.

Manik: dekho..its so beautiful..I..I actually love it haha

he laughed softly and painted all lost in it. Nandini blinked as she saw the rude and rugged Manik now a innocent man trying to ease away his pains and sorrows of his life. He looked at her and asked her to paint while she nodded and continued painting out leaving their marks and feelings on the wall.

She was dusting the frames when she heard him shouting at others. She rushed and saw him almost ready to eat everyone as they had dared to listen his old songs which he hated to the core. She went to him and tried calming him down but in vain. She hugged him tightly and angrily he started hitting her back with his large fist. She cried in pain but still didn't broke the hug and he kept on beating on her until he got tired and pushed her away making her collide with wall and collapsed on floor himself.

Nandini: Sssh..bash hoh gaya..koi kuch nahi karega jisshe tuhme ghussa aaye..no one will ever hurt you again hmm

she whispered ruffling his hair and he quietly lye on her lap and wrapped his arm around her with blank expression. She sighed in relief and wiped her tears away.

Nandini was preparing for lunch when land line rang..as there was no one she wiped her hands and walked towards it taking off her apron. She received the call with a soft smile and soon it faded away as what she heard made her shocked to the core and she dropped the phone down.

Mr. Malhotra was taking his last breathes connect in wires and syringes..he had an heart attack and unfortunately it was of third stage .Manik was sitting beside turning his face away from him while Nandini was standing staring at him finally uttered holding their hands

Mr. Malhotra: Dekho beta..mere paas jyada waqt nahi hai..Nandini..zindagi bhar joh mai nahi kar paya..woh tum karna beta..Mera Beta..mere Manik ka dhyaan rakhna..woh itna bura aur shaitan nahi hai..bas ushe pyaar chahiye..thoda sah pyaar..jiske liye who pure 26 saal tarpa hai..wada karo haa..you'll not leave him alone..ushe theek karna..ushki zindagi mai ushka music agar hoh sake toh wapas laa dena..ushe insaan bana dena beta..ek insaan bana dena

his voice got broked as he let out tears flow through his old wrinkled eyes. Nandini nodded and left while he turned to Manik and poked him lightly.

Mr. Malhotra: Zanta hu tu baat nahi karega..par pehli aur aakhri baar listen to me carefully..ush ladki koh jyada dard mat deh..thodi si shaitaniyat kam karde..wese bhi bahut tang kiya hai tune ushe phir bhi has haske tujhe sambhala hai..har insaan ek nahi hote beta..har koi bura nahi hota..aur woh bhi buri yaa greedy nahi hai..woh bas tere ujde hue zindagi koh theek karni aayi hai..dont hate her..aur aakhri wish samajhke..ek baar Dad bolde beta..itni kya nafrat..zanta hu jyada waqt nahi diya maine tujhe..phir bhi bheek maangta hu..ek baar Dad bolde

he whispered and gently closed his eyes while Manik wiped his tears harshly and sat like that holding his dead father's hand tightly. When Nandini returned she saw Manik crying badly hugging his father's tummy. She rushed to him.

Manik: Dad..Dad mar gaye dekho..kyu mar gaye..jisse bhi mai pyaar karta hu..sab mar jate hai..why..why always me..why..

he whispered shedding tears and coughed a bit while Nandu rubbed his back gently holding back her tears.

My Manikkk..😭.😭😭dil bhar jata hai mera jabhi v yeh wala manik ko dekhti hu...Nandini aab tum hi ho...😲😲
