CHAPTER 32

Location: KHURANA CONSTRUCTIONS, Delhi
Adi was on phone with Maan who had just landed by Khurana Emergency chopper with Geet on Khurana Hospital's roof top. "Adi,did you get Khurana Farmhouse ready?"
"Yes Sir. I have not informed anyone in Khurana Mansion. I will be there at once."
"No you be at KC. I will come once I can. I'll have to go now doctor is calling me."
Adi had just disconnected the phone, when he felt someone tap on his shoulder. Adi turned and said, "Sir?? Aap...?" (You...?)
"Adi, Maan kahan hai? Aur usse kya hua hai?" (Adi, where is Maan? What happened to him?)
"Maan Sir ko kuch nahi hua hai magar unki patni, Gayatri Ma'am ko hua hai." (Maan Sir is fine but his wife, Gayatri Ma'am is not fine.)
"G...mera matlab Gayatri kahaan admitted hai?" (G... I mean where is Gayatri admitted?)
"MK KI DUSARI SHAADI HUI HAI?" Sasha who was passing by overhead. (MK has re-married?)
"Haan ko chuki hai. Tumhei koi problem hai?" (Yes he is remarried. Any problem?) RK asked irritated.
"Nahi magar unki wife ki toh kuch saal pehle hi death ho chuki hai. Kya MK ne phir se shaadi kar li? " (No, but his wife passed away few years back. Has he got remarried?)
"Chacha, Sasha ko toh Bhai ke baare mei bahut maloom hai. Haan shyaad iss baat ka dukh hai ki iske haath se phirse Khurana Khandaan ka sabse bada beta nikal gaya hai." (Uncle, Sasha knows a lot about Bro. Maybe she is upset because the eldest of Khurana brothers' is no longer available!) Vicky sneered.
"Nahi mai toh..." (No, I was...)
"Tum chinta matt karo Sasha, abhi toh hum do bhai hain tumhare liye phasane ko!" (Don't worry! We are still remaining to entrap!) Yash also remarked sarcastically
"Agar tum phir bhi fail ho gayeen toh tumhare PITAH hain naa jaal bichaane aur saajish karne ke liye. Magar ek baat ka tum dono dhyaan rakhna ki agar Khurana Khandaan ki bahu ke saath tumne yaa tumhare pitah ne koi bhi harkat ki toh Khurana Khandaan bhool jaayenge ki tumhare Dadaji ne Khurana Khandaan par kya-kya ehsaan kiye the. Aur Maan tum baap-beti ko aisi sazaa dega ki tum dono ki ruh tak kaanp jaayegi!" (Even then if you fail, your FATHER is there for doing conspiracies and sabotaging. But listen to me very carefully Sasha, that if either you or your scheming father tries to harm the daughter-in-law of Khurana's, the Khurana family will forget all the favours done by your grandfather on us. Maan will give you both father-daughter duo such a punishment that even your soul will shiver in fright!)
Scarring Sasha to no end. "Sir mujhe kuch kaam mai chalti hoon." (I have some work, I'll leave!)
"Haan, haan, jaao, jaao apne ehsaan farahmosh, lalchi aur khudgarz baap ko jaa kar battao jo tumne yahaan kya sunna hai jisse woh phirse koi saajish mei lag jaaye." (Yes, yes please go. Go and tell your traitor, greedy and selfish father what you have just heard so he can again start scheming and conspiring again!) Vicky again said sarcastically and Sasha ran from there embarased and humiliated.
After Sasha left, RK asked,"Adi, Gayatri ko kya hua hai?" (Adi, what has happened to Gayatri?)
"Sir mujhe zyaada kuch nahi maloom, sirf yeh jaanta hoon ki Gayatri Ma'am ki tabiyat bahut kharaab ho gayi thee aur Maan Sir unhein Khurana Emergency Chopper ke saath Manali se Delhi laaye hain. Maan Sir ne mujhe Dadimaa, Bade Papa aur Badi Maa ko battane se manna kiya thaa. Magar abb aap teeno yahaan hain toh aap please unhein jaisa theek samjhe waisa battein. Mujhe abhi Maan Sir ko kuch zaruri kaagaz bhejne hain. Excuse me!" (Sir, I don't know much. I only know that Gayatri Ma'am's health is so bad that Maan Sir had to transport her from Manali to Delhi by Khurana Emergency Chopper. Maan Sir had strictly forbidden me to mention this to Dadimaa, Ranjit Sir aur Sumitra Ma'am. But now that you three are here, you can decide what to do. Excuse me I have to send important papers to Maan Sir.)
RK called Sadhana and asked her to come to Khurana Hospitals without telling anyone in KM. He then sent Vicky home as Maan and Vicky were still not talking on friendly terms as yet. RK and Yash left for Khurana Hospitals.
Location: KHURANA HOSPITALS, Delhi
RK and Yash reached Khurana Hospitals, and found Maan strolling outside the ICU in tension. RK went and put a comforting hand on Maan's shoulder surprising Maan. "Beta, Geet kaisi hai?" (Maan, how is Geet?)
"Chacha, Yash aap sab kab aaye?" (Uncle, Yash when did you all arrive?)
"Kal raath. Geet ko kya hua hai?" (Yesterday night. What has happened to Geet?)
"Patta nahi." (I don't know!) Maan narrated everything what doctor had told him in Manali.
"Maan yeh toh chinta karne ki baat hai."(Maan this cause for worry!)
"Chachi, yeh aap kya keh rahi hain?" (What are you saying Aunt?)
"Maan, Geet ki pregnancy abhi sirf che mahine ki honewali aur iss samay uski delivery sahi nahi hai. Kamse kam saath mahine toh poore hone hi chajiye! Doctor kya kehti hain?" (Maan Geet can't deliver now as she is about to complete only 6 months of pregnancy. She has to complete minimum seven months pf pregnancy before she delivers! What does doctor say?)
"Chachi, jabse hum aaye hain. Doctor Geet ke saath hi hain." (Since we have come Aunt, Doctor is examining Geet!)
Just then Dr. Padmaja Rangnathan arrived. She is head of Gynaecology and Obsetrics Department in Khuarana Hospitals. Maan immediately rushed to her, "Doctor Aunty, how is my Geet?"
"Maan beta". Dr. Padmaja was school friend of Maan's mother Sumitra before she was associated with Khurana Hospitals. "Geet is very weak. At this stage, I don't know if the baby can survive as the attacker had tried to strangulate Geet, but due to her presence of mind she was able save herself and her baby. However, due to lack of oxygen in her body she fainted. I suggest we keep her under observation till she stabilises. Currently she is 23weeks pregnant and its more important that she completes seven months of pregnancy."
"Doctor, can we meet her?"
"Sadhana, where is Sumitra?"
"Bhabhi is at home. She doesn't know about Maan and Geet being in Delhi otherwise she will tell bhaiya."
"But just now Sumitra and you have to be here to give Geet support. Once Sumitra is here, please both of you come to my chamber."
"Doctor, you are needed by patient on bed no..."
"Excuse Me. Sadhana please call Sumitra right now!"
RK called Vicky and told him the situation. Vicky used the excuse of needing help of his mother for buying gift for his girl friend. Once in car and some distance away from KM, Vicky told Sumitra the truth about Maan and Geet being in Delhi and Geet's health condition. Sumitra was shocked but Vicky calmed her and told her that Padma aunty has specifically called her!
Location: KHURANA HOSPITALS, DELHI
Sumitra reached hospital, first met with Maan, RK, Sadhana and Yash. She was shocked to see Maan in a broken state. Sumitra went to Maan and gave him a reality check, "Yeh kya hai Maan? Tum koi 18 saal ke college ke majnu nahi ho. Tum Khurana Constructions ke MD aur India mei Khurana Industries ke karta-dharta ho. Apne aap ko sambhalo tabhi apni patni aur bacche ko sambhal sakte ho. Jaao Vicky aur mai tumhare kapade laaye hain. Fresh ho aur kapade badalo jisse jab Geet tumhein dekhe usse support mile naa ki Geet ko tumhei support dena pade!" (What is this Maan? You are not an 18 year old love sick teenager! You are MD of Khurana Constructions and heir of Khurana Industries, India! If you cannot support yourself how will you support your wife and child? Do freshen up, change your clothes and look presentable so you can support Geet, instead of Geet supporting you!)
Maan at once understood that how right his mother was. He immediately left for the washroom. While Sumitra and Sadhana left for Dr. Padmaja Ranganathan's clinic.
Dr. Padmaja Ranganathan saw Sumitra and welcomed Sumitra and Sadhana in her cabin. "Hello Sumi! How are you?"
"I'm fine Padma. I believe you wanted to meet me. What is wrong with Geet Padma?"
"Sumi, Geet is at very critical stage. Geet and baby's oxygen supply was restricted for 3-4seconds. Although she was given oxygen as soon as possible but in that lapse of 3-4seconds of no oxygen supply, how it will effect the unborn baby we don't know. I'm arranging for ultrasound and we will come to know better picture of the baby then."
"Doctor, how much chances are there for the baby's survival?"
"As I said Sadhana, let me first see the ultrasound reports and then decide."
After consulting Dr. Padmaja Ranganathan and getting ultrasound results it was decided that Geet will stay in hospital for few days. Geet was discharged after 5days, Maan brought Geet to Khurana Farmhouse.
