Still a spark of electricity pulsed through his body when Tia suggested to fix Anika with someone. He had to mock her to an extent of proving her not normal in any sense. Her behaviour, her dreams, everything about her whatever she did wasn't just normal to him, he just had to degrade her so that the idea could be dropped.
Contradicting was his heart and mind who saw her fixing the fairy lights. He thought of the smiles, the rare but genuine ones which ironically were were not even a couple, rather than purely sarcastic ones she gave him when she irritated him. She was beautiful, he had already known that. What amazed him was the newly found fragility. She had become or he had started noticing her delicacy. By every means he seemed to try to hide her from others as if seeing her in that light would allow them to take advantage.
