The main reason why I think Sartaj is so traumatized and weak is because, his self identity was taken away from him. Until his hair was not cut off, he was so strong and so brave to face the opponents and also spit on their faces. But the minute, that officer cut of his hair and threw him into the cell, we could immediately see the scared and weak Sartaj. He has been traumatised. The scene where he remembers this incident also shows how sad and lost he feels of not being able to tie the pagdi and losing the identity of being a sikh.
What do you guys think ?

Yeah, I agree. I said something similar in my last post. When Sartaj looked at himself in the mirror wearing his pagg, it was the first time I saw the slightest hint of a smile from him. And in the latest episode, he was "normal." I was pretty surprised how he was able to be so different than he was just the day before... The worry is still there, but he mostly expressed positive emotion. I'm not sure how he got through all the chaos at the party without the flashbacks.
