While I really do agree with the aforementioned reasons for Shivaay being portrayed as such a goddamn airhead, I'm attempting to look at it optimistically.I was talking to my sister about how Shivaay and Annika are the protecters of their respective households, and so to the world, they put up walls to shield themselves and their loved ones from hurt.
However, once someone crosses the line from an acquaintance to someone they care about, Shivaay and Annika are both extremely vulnerable.
I feel like both could do absolutely anything for someone that they loved.
For Shivaay, Daksh is a childhood friend, and thus family. He chooses not to look at his gaping flaws and instead tries to calmly persuade him to do otherwise. Yet, Daksh is so persistent with his infatuation with Annika, that Shivaay reluctantly makes the choice to help him.
In that sense, he is extremely ignorant. Anyhow, I still think that this is in character, because when it comes to his family, Shivaay is idealistic, and even naive to a fault.
On the other hand, I think Annika is guided by the same personal values.
Even though Sundari Bua is a freaking wretch, Annika still can't help but care for her. I think her vulnerability lies with families in general, because she doesn't have one herself. Thus, I think she leans towards the Oberois so much, as well as foregoing all of Bua's horrible personality.
Maybe it is the fact that he's a clueless male lead, but I'm going to choose to look at it this way, instead 😊
