And yes, Vikram is that shrewd veteran who knows bureaucracy and politics deep-down-inside and how to get his 'job' done in that system. TBVH, I was much interested into his plot than the family drama thing ever since I watched the full trailer but was bit worried that his story-line ("track") will soon be over and then the focus will solely be on families. But I have managed to 'shoo-away' that 'tension' for the time-being. And his smartness in twisting words i.e. how he euphemised 'girgit' with 'chhipkali' [while teaching students in a class at Sainik School in Kapurthala, Punjab*] got me even more interested since then.
TBVH, I'm not surprised by Vikram's antics and tactics because that's how "Establishment" (government) functions. 😳 Rather, I'm... That Much Thankful to the writers for 'sketching' a character which is so realistic and believable that I'm falling short of words [to express gratitude]. 👏👏👏 But yes, given the real-life phenomena, I'm just surprised that how a Military Professor could dare to doubt the soldiers of his motherland and that too, not any ordinary ones but POWs. No, I'm not nitpicking (TBVH) but rather, what I meant was that didn't he gave enough-thought about consequences? The backlash he'll face from the public, his public image, and above all, the disbandment of liaison with "Establishment" (Duggal, in this case). If so, then all these just to clear-out himself from suspicions or prove them (Imaan and Sartaj) to have been 'turned' by the enemy force seems "hard-to-digest" for me. I mean, why would he 'dance in the dark' that much if he don't have his own goals? Well, I think it's better to leave it on the fiction side. 😆
*Side-note: It's the best among Sainik Schools across India, just in case you aren't aware.
