Devanshi has been supposedly the chosen one by Ghungroo-Wali-Maiyya (GWM for future reference). But she has the worst luck ever
- her parents are killed when she is little
- Kamla cares for only her revenge
- her adopted father and mama love her but cannot do anything for her and will probably never do anything in the future either
- Her sister and BF is on the path of hating her as she think her mother prefers Devanshi!
- She is always the misunderstood one and is punished.

Only thing she has going for her is her own attitude and ability to see goodness in others.

Don't you think GWM could have been a little kinder on the little girl after putting the big responsibility on her shoulder to fight the evil of superstition??? Instead GWM seems to have gone overboard in making her life lonely and difficult as well giving her all the qualities of daily soap leads.

Agree with you. Nobody is there for her. Sometimes she gets love from Rajjo and Ashutosh.

Agree!!! Tears and TRP are totally related - tears rise, TRP rises higher and if it is a bacchi, TRPs goes even higher. 😕

GWM or Maa Devi has her in her loving embrace. Otherwise how is it possible that she manages to get out of every trick played on her?

Devanshi is indeed going through the exact hardships as any other heroines. But what makes Devanshi different is the manner in which the story is narrated (it really gives you the feeling that you are fallowing a story, Devanshi's journey), the high quality of image and the strong cast.
Another thing that makes it different is that, generally, it has a positive note attached to it. For example, Sarla is using the little girl only for revenge but since she needs her, she has no other way than to protect her from Mata Kusum, like the time when she went to apologize to her for the fact that Devanshi has stolen the lotus flowers. I liked that even if it was not genuine.

Also, Devanshi's dad and her mama, even if they never take strong actions to protect Devanshi, is good to see their interactions with the little girls, their simple conversations. Many shows lack this. They have too much drama or too much romance, but they fail to present some meaningful conversations between the characters.

P.S. You're Katori, right? From Udaan Forum? But you changed your name. So nice to see you here! It is always a pleasure to converse with you.

You have expressed my thoughts too!

The lack of guile in the kids is shown so nicely too - as well as their sibling rivalry. Like Sakshi's complaints over her need to go to school and do home work. Then the scene of the two of them counting the money in their piggy bank - and Sakshi wanting the credit for her idea!
