Vikram Singh Chauhan of Star Plus show Jane Na Dil Se Door is quite happy with the current numbers. "Our USP so far has been different treatment. i.e. empowerment of women storylines. It is no mean feat that we have reached 1.1 TVR in the early evening 5.30 pm time slot. No other show in our early evening time band has raked similar numbers till date. Forget that certain Prime Time shows have to be satisfied with 1.2. Cut to our repeat 10..30 pm sot, where we are able garner same rating as our original telecast. We are second only to the slot leader which maximum fetches 1.5TVR. Other original shows on the same slot are rating similar or below numbers as well. Therefore the pressure is on them to up their game lest they come under the scanner. Had we aired fresh episodes at 10.30 our numbers would have been higher."
However Vikram does fear that that creative team in an attempt to further lift ratings might resort to tried and tested methods. If such a thing does happen, I will not like it. Ideally we should not deviate from the essence. But at the end of the day we also need to accept that numbers do count and such ventures do bring in extra numbers."
