Farhan REFUSES to pay 5 crore to Army Welfare Fund!

After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the next film on the list is Raees which is becoming the target for 'Pakistani artist' controversy. However the producer has taken a firm stand by refusing to pay the huge amount for the Army Welfare Fund.

According to a report, the actor-producer was quoted saying," No question of giving Rs 5 crore to the Army (for Raees) as they have refused to take it." (sic)

He even said that our society is protected by rules and regulations and it is the responsibility to safeguard the industry! "I think we are law abiding taxpayers and the state should take care of us," he said. (sic)

In response to Farhan's statement, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Cinema wing chief Amey Khopkar commented," Release nazdik aane do phir dekhlenge. By the way, Where were these people when the decision of donating Rs. 5 crores was taken? Suddenly everyone is waking up?" (sic)

Khopkar also responded to Farhan's 'taxpayers' statement. He was quoted saying," We all know on what kind of visa these Pakistani actors come and work here. If we open the documents, producers will land in a big soup. When producers are ready to pay these Pakistani artistes, why are they hesitating to donate money to Indian Army." (sic)
