This is my 2nd post in this forum so am not sure whether this topic has already been discussed. Has Maya faced some sexual harassment at younger age . I guess when she was young her father had made some sexual advances. Or is it anything else. Whether Indian telly would be showing such bold themes is another qn mark

I really hope they dare to show something like that, because these things are rarely discussed. Child s*xual abuse needs to be shed light on.

It makes sense too- her refusal to initiate touch, the way she sees her father as a predator and shies away from his touch, her wearing white and cutting the cake in a childlike manner (perhaps in an attempt to reclaim the lost innocence of her childhood)

Maya always refuses when someone tries to shake hands with her especially males. There had to be strong reason for the same and the CVs handle these issues in a sensitive manner.

Whatever it is, I hope it is adequate enough to explain her fears and her personality. I have seen too many shows where they build up such a great suspense and then everything turns out to be a dud.
I was thinking it may be related to sexual abuse but I am not sure Indian TV is ready is for sexual abuse that also between father and daughter. It may be more like psychological abuse.

Even if they show it was only psychological abuse...it's a big deal . I have seen people permanently going insane after being abused in their childhood or resulting from just ONE traumatic experience from childhood...

I agree and disagree at the same time 😕 - if that is possible.

Psychological abuse is a big deal and cannot be taken lightly. Sustained psychological abuse can destroy a person - even someone with the strongest mind. I can't even imagine what it would do to a child's psyche.

However just ONE traumatic experience giving rise to such personality is too much - Possible but not likely.

So i am totally lost..
Why does he torture his own daughter? Or is she not his daughter?
Mom dearest is rich and pretty and so in love with her husband.. so why does husband mistreat her? specially given that he is dependent on her financially..😆

Dynamics in cases of abuse are extremely complicated. Just having money/resources does not bring power to the person. It is more about control - who has more power over the other in a relationship.

Abused women often keep going back to their abusers, even when they are educated and employed. It is not because of lack of intelligence but it is often a combination of fear (he will kill me or harm me/family) and low self-esteem (he is the best I can get, how will I live without him).

If they dare to be different and show/discuss such a scenario then I will be the first one to applaud the CVs for taking initiative ti discuss something that people shy away from.
Also the reason behind maya's behavior should be a solid one otherwise it won't make sense.
As for psychological abuse, yes if it a continued abuse then it does ever lasting damage to a child's mind.
