Hi guys...an OS after a long time...This is more about the feeling of love...what love truly signifies as per my ideas...Please do let me know what you feel...I know it is crap...but you guys have read my crap before đ
There she was...staring at him...The prettiest pair of eyes that he had ever seen, innocent yet naughty.
He never actually realised when he fell for her, he was neck deep in love with her, before the realisation dawned upon. Lakshya Maheshwari, was a ambitious young man, hailing from a family of bureaucrats. He had to carry on his family traditions, and he was confident about doing it extremely well. Ragini Gadodia, on the other hand was a meek and shy girl. She never harboured much ambitions, but she was an amazing singer. Lakshya and Ragini had first met at an inter college fest. He was participating in a debate and she in the music segment. The first meeting was an inconspicuous one...but they were destined to meet...again...and again...and again.
Firstly, the author clarifies this was not love at the first sight...neither the second nor the third. Both the individuals hailing from the Marwari community and of age, a match making would definitely be done.
It would be an unlikely acquaintance...The outspoken and extrovert Lakshya and the soft and introvert Ragini...but this was their destiny.
He still recalled the evening, he first saw her in the bright red bridal wear...probably the first instance where his heart skipped a beat. He had not really noticed her beauty before, because they hardly met before marriage, and truly speaking, she was more of a plain Jane in the previous meetings.
The first night of the marriage...ahhh...nothing much to talk about exactly...They both were tired...and went off to sleep. But while she was sleeping, he could not help admiring her innocence and beauty. A week passed by, and they were like mere strangers. She was too introvert (or lazy...that's what he thought), to speak up and he was most of the times lost in her beauty. It was just an exchange of pleasantries. After a week of their marriage, she was supposed to visit her parents. Ragini was excited like a child while packing...but Lakshya was not comfortable with her excitement. Why was she so happy on going back to her parents? Is she not okay with me? She is "my wife" after all...He was disappointed.
He drove her to her parents' place. She looked genuinely happy. At her house, he was treated like a prince (son-in-law you see). She stood their quietly, smiling. From the corner of his eyes, he could see her friends teasing her, and she blushed. It was time for Lakshya to leave, he glanced at Ragini, who smiled back. The parents' thankfully realised the situation and left them alone in the living room for some time. He walked towards her..."Enjoy your stay with your parents Ragini"...He said..."Thanks.."...she replied softly. He wanted to say a lot of things...but he turned around and was about to leave. "Lakshya.."...He heard her calling with a hesitant voice...He turned back...and saw her holding out a small packet in her hand. "I wanted to give you this gift...but couldn't get the right moment"...she said in an uncertain voice. His heart was dancing with joy...The first gift from her...He deftly unwrapped the packet and found a lovely Parker ink pen..."Thanks.."...He said..."it's going to be there with me...forever"...she beamed at him.
Gradually, a lovely relationship blossomed between them...It was a relationship of mutual respect, friendship, trust and above all Love...The Parker pen was the witness
Days, months, weeks passed by...The family expanded to have two kids...A son and a daughter. So much of responsibilities...so many arguments...so much of anger...but above all...so much of LOVE...The Parker Pen was the witness
Years passed by...The kids grew up...settled in life...everything was so fulfilling...The LOVE became stronger by the day...The witness remained the same...though by now it was old and stopped working
And then...that day...had to come. ...The inevitable...she left him...she went away peacefully...and he waited.
It had been 5 years of his days without her. His children and grandchildren had come home. He spent an amazing evening with them...The children were adorable. His granddaughter...Sreya...was a carbon copy of Ragini. As pretty as a her...and an amazing singer. Lakshya Maheshwari had dinner with his family and retired to his room. He was feeling strangely happy and content today. He stared at her portrait... There she was...staring at him...The prettiest pair of eyes that he had ever seen, innocent yet mesmerising...He slowly walked back to the drawer. ...opened it...and took out the Parker Pen...He gave a lopsided smile...and went off to sleep peacefully.
...
"Papa was in absolutely good health...what happened suddenly?"...His daughter sobbed.
"Don't cry mamma"...little Sreya said " yesterday while Dadaji was telling me a story. ...He told me that he was very happy as very soon he would be meeting Dadiji. He has probably gone there"...
...
She welcomed him with open arms...It was a wait for 5 long years...
"So we meet again"...she told him..."It's coming up again"...she laughed..."you would be going in a few days...and I would be following soon"...she said excitedly..."before we meet up again in some birthday party after 16 years"...
And probably the witness again would be a Parker Pen...yet again
"Na tum humein jaano...na hum tumhein jaanein
Magar lagta hain kuch aisa mera Humdum mil gaya..."
