TOI:Vandana Pathak returns to 'Saathiya...' after five months

Seasoned actress Vandana Pathak, who played Gaura in 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', is returning to the show after five-and-half months. Talking about the return of her character, who's behind bars, she says, "I was told that I would be returning after a couple of months, but it took time to plant the re-entry. I am yet to be informed about my track, but I hope it remains negative."

Much has been written about her being constantly at loggerheads with co-actor Rupal Patel aka Kokilaben on the show. Dismissing it as personality clashes, Pathak says, "I can't befriend everyone. Besides, there isn't much interaction with Rupal barring the initial few days when the story demanded it. There are so many actors and actresses, who share a great chemistry on screen, but don't get along in real life. We are professional and exchange customary greetings. I have always shared cordial relationships with all my co-actors, including those in 'Saathiya'... I also take time to open up with people, which many mistake as attitude. But that's not the case."

Ask her about reports of Rupal's alleged insecurity with Vandana's growing prominence in the show and the latter replies, "Well, I entered the show a year-and-a-half ago, so I don't see any reason for insecurity. But you must ask her this."
