Hey guys!
That one line betrayed him completely. The expectation of 'hum', of him AND her, having breakfast together. Not that they were eating, but hey, it still counts as an unexpected date conversation😆
He ensured that when he needlessly got them together in his sentence.
He could have said ' Chalo, sit down and have breakfast'; 'Tum bhi naashta kar lo'
Anything really, but the 'chalo, hum naashta kar lete hain' seemed very significant to me😳
Who would have thought that to know all her decisions, thoughts, and opinions would become not merely a curiosity, but a thing of necessity, a way of being, a moment of peace in a life too busy with work and family?Who would have thought that it would be the lack of her full attention that would finally make a madman of him?
This restlessness within, this eagerness combined with the happiness that a mere glimpse of her aroused in him: What are these feelings?
Why is he unable to free himself?
Does he wish to be around her, talk to her, make her smile, annoy her, just so that once, for once, she looks into his eyes with a sparkle that seems to have dimmed.
Why is everything a first with her?
Just like today, eating breakfast with her has instead created a day of fasting for him.
Why did he decide to keep the vrat in line with his family traditions of husbands fasting with their wives?
Just because she said she liked the tradition and smiled?
What did he see in her smile, that made him do something so impulsive?
Was it the lurking sadness? Was it an almost primal need to keep that smile on her face?
Was it the need for unconscious approval from her?
Just like she had smiled when he'd repeated word for word all she'd told him about Mallika's situation?
Or how she had called him 'chant' for uploading a different video than the one both of them were embarrassed about?
Or was he doing this as an act of selfishness?
Was it a betrayal by a heart that would not slow its quick beats as soon as he saw her?
All he knew was that Shivaay Singh Oberoi did not believe in the concept of fasting at all and therefore, would never keep one.
All she knew was no one would ever fast for her.
And yet, quite surprisingly, it would be her Billu ji who would do it for her, and a tradition that began today would continue for years to come.
'Main Tia ke liye fast kyun rakhunga; It doesn't make sense'
Of course it would never make sense. The moment of reckoning is on his head : What seemed logical to him all his life has become a matter of nonsense to him.
After all, 'Main TIA ke liye fast nahi rakh raha'
The emphasis again showed his frustration at her complete lack of understanding, at his utter inability to tell her why and how he came to this decision, and possibly, hunger pangs.
BTW guys: did you notice the way he emphasised his question when he asked her 'Kaisa decision' by shaking the fork he was holding 😆😆😆 it was a small thing that belied the urgency in his calm voice
Also, when they talked today there was no awkwardness like their first breakfast date. it was all such a casual, couple's conversation😆😆
AND, last: Bolna was perfect, I didn't want to ruin it with words
*EDITED*
And yet. here I am
The one thing I can say about the Bolna scene is
For some time, they were in their own world, doing what all people who have feelings for each other do: they were sneaking glances at each other, they had eyes only for each other, and were behaving shyly as new couples do...and suddenly, this dream, this possibility was snatched away from them.
Anika was extremely aware that Shivaay was looking at her, differently. And finally, when he was about to come speak to her, Tia entered and literally came in between their lines of vision, and Anika shook her head.
In that shake was a lifetime of disappointment, a mental slap to even expect something as simple as: she was attractive to this man and he wanted to speak with her.
That he would ever be looking at her in that way. Because of course, he'd made it so clear and she had reinforced it to him that they were separated by a line that won't be crossed. So how could she even for a second think he would want to cross that line to even come and speak to her.
I really felt sad for Anika at that moment. But she was so firm and resolute even then.
And he, he stood there watching her go, wanting nothing more but to rush after her. And yet, he was stopped by his own choices, his own boundary line, his own decision.
Love!
