THOUGHTS

"Bhai! Bhai!"

Shyam looked up from His laptop to see His younger brother Laksh walk quickly into the room.

"Ram Bhaiya! Ram Bhaiya!"

Lakshmana came running into the room, causing Rama to look up from His scrolls, and smile at His younger brother.

Shyam smiled lovingly at Laksh.

"What's going on kid?", asked Shyam, a beautiful smile on His face.

"I don't know Bhaiya. I have this strange feeling", said Laksh.

"What is that?", asked Shyam, understanding what it was. His elder brother Balabhadra had started feeling that way as well.

"I feel like I am more than I think I am. I don't know Bhaiya", said Laksh.

"It's okay Laksh", said Shyam, placing His hand on Laksh's head. "It will be fine"

"I know Bhaiya", said Laksh.

The two brothers smiled at each other.

Shrikala was bored.

She didn't know what to do. Her dreams and visions, now instead of bothering her, made her happier than ever. She knew that she had a part of Shri Devi in her. And the Shri characteristics of Shri Krishna's Bharya. All of them except Satyabhama. Why was Satyabhama alone separate? That answer she did not know. Closing her eyes, she called out to her Lord, asking Him to answer her questions.

Dharani walked along the length of her room. She was feeling uneasy. Something big was going to happen the next day, and she wasn't going to feel great about it.

"Ma!"

Janani came into her room.

"Hi kid. What's up?", asked Dharani.

"Nothing much. Except I have a question", said Janani.

"What is that?", asked Dharani.

"Why does everyone say Prakriti is bound by Sanskriti?", asked Janani.

"That's how the perceive it. Everything in the world is perception of the Maya placed around it. People believe that Prakriti is bound by Sanskriti because they perceive due to the Maya. When the Maya is lifted, you realize Prakriti can never be bound. Prakriti is free, Prakriti is Nature. Prakriti will allow Herself to be bound, but she is not actually bound. The one who complements her is Purush. To Purush, Prakriti will be bound. Through their life. Sita was sent away to the forest by Shri Rama. But that is not Prakriti leaving Purush, for they are always known as SiyaRam. That is a Mother leaving her children for their taunts were getting too much. She was sent away for her Rama never wanted anyone to point fingers at her", said Dharani.

"So Prakriti and Purush are never separated?", asked Janani.

"Never. It is only together, working in sync that Jagat Kalyan can be established. Both Prakriti and Purush are needed for that. Only when they are in sync can Jagat Kalyan be established", said Dharani.

"I see. That's why SiyaRam, RadheShyam, RukminiSatyabhamaKrishna, GauriShankar, SaraswatiBrahmaDev", said Janani. "Now I get it Ma"

"I know you do, child", said Dharani, affectionately, the mother in her shining through, bringing tears to Janani's eyes.

Dharani sat silently in college, humming with the music she was listening to, when she heard loud voices, and something close to a huge gossip telling session seemed to be happening. She walked up to her classmates, and asked them, "What is going on here?"

"Dharani, finally. Justice for you, and all of us", said her friend Kavita, grabbing Dharani and twirling around.

"Kavi, what is going on?", asked Dharani, smiling. Her happiness was infectious.

"Complains about Asti ma'am have gone to the Registrar", said Kavi, grinning. "She will pay for failing us"

"But we didn't complain", said Dharani, confused.

"We didn't. The first years did", said Kavi.

"Which means the HOD is going to come and ask us why we didn't complain, even though this has been repeated from our seniors to our juniors", said Dharani.

"Why will he do that?", asked Kavi.

"He has been trying to figure out what to change in this department ever since he came", said Dharani. "This is going to be a problem, mostly. He knows that we don't complain about teachers easily"

"So what?", asked Kavi, confused.

"When they investigate a teacher, all the students will be asked for their opinion. We have to tell them the truth, instead of being scared", said Dharani.

"But...", started Kavi.

"No buts Kavi", said Dharani. "It would be odd if we say the wrong thing, when everyone else knows that we are hiding things"

"But why should we complain?", asked Farzana, another classmate.

"If we don't, and the entire thing becomes contradictory, then our juniors will suffer much more. We have to help them out", said Dharani. "Anyway, let us see what is going to happen. Hasty plans do not need to be made. What has to happen will happen"

Dharani's concluding words made the topic change, and her classmates went back to their mundane discussions.

Swami', thought Dharani. Karma does catch up with people'

Dharani didn't want this to happen to her teacher. She just wanted to do well. She didn't expect her teachers to fail her just because they didn't like her. She felt like it is only now that she has finally learnt what life is. That people use you and throw you away. Dharani had always been a loving and affectionate girl, open and warm. Yet, she didn't have many friends, simply because she was a little on the plump side. Talk about shallow!

Dharani danced, and lost herself in it. Her love for Shri Rama was so obvious, yet subtle. She portrayed Sita the way she knew her, a loving woman, for whom her Husband was her sole God, her soul. Her body language changed as she practiced Sita's longing for Rama, changed as she trembled and burned for Shri Rama, almost as if she was Sita herself, in the eyes of the viewers.

"Well don", said Guru Radha. "I am proud of the practice you have put in, and your ability to sink into the character you are playing"

"Thank you aunty", said Dharani, smiling happily.

"Now, all of you come here. We are dancing for the Thyagaraja Mahotsavam at the Kapali temple", said Guru Radha.

"And?", asked Pranavi, one of Dharani's close friends there.

"And what? All of you are going to learn new songs on Lord Rama is all I can say", said Guru Radha. "Gear up, all of you. You have a lot to learn"

Dharani grinned. Learning was one of her favourite things to do. Ever.

Loved your description of prakriti-sanskriti and purush-prakriti. 👏 You should also add Brahma-Saraswati to the list. They are usually forgotten by people. 😳

Also loved the Shrikala part, but I am a bit confused also. I didn't get what she meant about Satyabhama being separate. 😕
