Abhishek Bachchan has done it. And so has Hrithik Roshan. Therefore it was only a matter of time that the King of Bollywood would add a mobile phone to his long list of endorsements. Shah Rukh Khan has been roped in by mobile giant Nokia to promote their phones. A source close to the actor confirmed the news to us.
"Yes it is true. Shah Rukh has decided to endorse Nokia. He is very much into high tech gadgets and so this was almost a natural choice to say yes to Nokia," says the source.
Nokia's latest ad campaign hit the airwaves on Friday, December 21 and shows Khan using his hi tech Nokia mobile phone to stay connected in his ever busy life. The TV commercial features Khan using various Nokia phones in different circumstances and highlighting their functionality.
The source says that as usual Khan has been very involved in the concepts behind the ads. "One of the ads will show the SRK checking his e-mail on his Nokia phone and then mingling with his fans where he takes pictures again on his Nokia phone," adds the source.
Khan already endorses a wide array of products including the mobile service provider Airtel, Hyundai, Hewlett Packard, Tag Heuer, Videocon, Sunfeast and is believed to receive almost five crores per endorsement.
And as much as this campaign with SRK might be a success story one can't help but remember best friend Farah Khan's jibe about SRK's mobile manners on mate Karan Johar's Koffee with Karan last season. The Om Shanti Om director was seen cribbing about the fact that Shah Rukh never ever answers his mobile phone or replies to text messages!
