Honestly being part of krpkab and this forum made me learn a lot about marriage and complexities and how should one handle such situations. Hopefully these help me when I get married after few years. I read many people's opinion and thoughts and their story. Honestly so glad to be part of this!😛

Hi - I know all this looks really scary for young girls. But trust me (married for 8 years) its not always bad. There is a lot of give and take situations and at times you have to play it by the ear. And what really matters is that you give respect and also command respect. And one way to ensure this is to make yourself financially independent.
When we are young we get infatuated by all the love stories and happy ever after, but life is not so. You learn later on that looks and all these mushy feeling doesn't last and what you really want is to have a peaceful life where you are respected.

I got married in my late 20's and that too after working for 3 years. And I got married into a decent upper middle class family. And trust me when I tell you that I have a gem of a MIL who has always cared for me as my own mom. I am not saying its all prefect, but she has never once made me uncomfortable in my new house.
